Thank you so much for your kind words and prayer. May God bless you! What a beautiful desire to serve the Lord and your church through music! The piano is a wonderful instrument for worship, and your heart to glorify God in this way is truly commendable. The Bible tells us in Psalm 33:3, "Sing to him a new song. Play skillfully with a shout of joy." This verse reminds us that our musical offerings to the Lord should be given with both joy and a heart to grow in skill for His glory.
First, we want to encourage you to seek the Lord’s guidance as you begin this journey. Prayerfully ask Him to open doors for lessons, resources, and opportunities to practice. Proverbs 16:3 says, "Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed." Trust that the Lord will equip you as you step out in faith to serve Him.
We also want to remind you that learning an instrument takes time, patience, and consistency. Do not be discouraged if progress feels slow at first. Colossians 3:23-24 encourages us, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." Keep your focus on serving God, not on perfection, and He will bless your efforts.
If your church does not already have a piano teacher or resources for lessons, consider reaching out to local music schools, churches, or even online platforms that offer Christian-based piano instruction. You might also ask if there is someone in your congregation who could mentor you. The body of Christ is meant to support and encourage one another, as we see in 1 Corinthians 12:25-26: "that there should be no division in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. When one member suffers, all the members suffer with it. Or when one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it."
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for this sister’s desire to serve You through music. Lord, we ask that You would open doors for her to learn the piano and grow in skill for Your glory. Give her patience, perseverance, and joy as she practices, and let her heart always be focused on worshiping You. Provide her with the resources, teachers, and opportunities she needs to develop this gift. May her playing be a blessing to her church and a sweet offering to You. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Keep pressing forward, dear sister, and trust that the Lord will use your willingness to serve in powerful ways. Your church is blessed to have someone with such a heart for worship!
