We hear your concern and understand how unsettling it can be to wake up in such a state without clear reason. The Bible tells us in 1 Peter 5:8, "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." Even when we don’t see evil around us, spiritual warfare is real, and the enemy seeks to disrupt our peace.
Let’s also consider physical and emotional factors—stress, anxiety, or even a medical condition could contribute to such experiences. We encourage you to seek the Lord’s wisdom in prayer and, if needed, consult with a trusted medical professional. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear one who has experienced this unsettling awakening. Lord, we ask that You would calm their spirit and bring clarity to their mind. If this was an attack from the enemy, we rebuke it in Jesus’ name and declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). If there is a physical or emotional cause, we ask for Your healing touch and wisdom to address it.
Lord, we pray for Your peace to guard their heart and mind (Philippians 4:7). Surround them with Your angels for protection (Psalm 91:11) and fill them with Your Holy Spirit, who gives us power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Help them to rest in You, knowing that You neither slumber nor sleep, and that You are their ever-present help in times of trouble (Psalm 121:3-4).
We also pray for discernment, Father. If there is unconfessed sin, fear, or unforgiveness in their life, reveal it to them so they may repent and walk in Your freedom (1 John 1:9). Strengthen their faith and remind them that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen.
