I woke up angry, discouraged, disappointed, bitter, depressed and just all together in a bad mood. I have been praying for breakthrough in a particular situation for many months and as a whole for many years. I see no change and it's getting to me. I have my ups and downs with this but today I am particularly fed up.

Why?  God is more interested in how you "see" your circumstances than He is in changing your circumstances to please you.

10 Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

Every day is available to us for glorifying the Lord in our lives.  Begin each and every day with praise, worship, and being in the Word reading.  Your will is cold hearted and you can praise the Lord in spite of all the circumstances going on around you. Which will be the most important thing in your eternal life after this life, your circumstances being changed or you being changed to handle the circumstances.  Gideon was not invited by God to observe his circumstances and see how bad they were and were hopeless.  God invited Gideon into a relationship with Him in order to defeat an enemy and change the circumstances.  He wants to have a relationship with you too, and then your circumstances shall change. Jesus won a victory over all your circumstances when He went to the cross. Is Jesus's victory enough? You need to enforce that victory, and trust and believe in that victory that is yours, already.
