We hear your declaration of determination and desire for victory this month of May, and we stand with you in seeking God’s will and blessing over your life. However, we must gently remind you that true victory comes not from our own strength or declarations alone, but from aligning our hearts and desires with God’s purposes. Scripture tells us in Proverbs 16:3, "Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed." It is not our words or willpower that bring victory, but surrendering our plans to the Lord and trusting in His guidance.
We also want to encourage you to reflect on what "winning" means in God’s eyes. Is it success in worldly terms—wealth, recognition, or personal achievement—or is it faithfulness, obedience, and walking in the ways of the Lord? Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:33, "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." True victory is found in seeking God first and allowing Him to define what success looks like for you.
Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear one to You, asking that You would align their heart with Your will for this month of May. Father, we ask that You would help them to seek You first in all things, trusting that You will direct their paths and bring about Your perfect plan for their life. Lord, we rebuke any spirit of self-reliance or pride that may be lurking in their heart, and we ask that You would fill them with humility and dependence on You. May they find their strength in You alone, knowing that apart from You, they can do nothing (John 15:5). Father, we pray that You would grant them victory—not as the world defines it, but as You do. May they experience the joy of walking in obedience to Your Word and the peace that comes from trusting in You. We ask that You would open their eyes to see Your hand at work in their life and give them the courage to follow where You lead. In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word this month, seeking His face and asking Him to reveal His will for your life. Victory is already yours in Christ Jesus, for He has overcome the world (John 16:33). Rest in that truth, and let it guide your steps each day. If there are specific areas where you are seeking victory—whether in your career, relationships, or personal walk with God—bring those before the Lord in prayer. He is faithful to hear and answer the cries of His children.
