We come before the Lord with you, lifting up your heartfelt concerns as a single mother seeking His provision and guidance for both you and your son. The Lord is your Provider, and He cares deeply for your needs—both temporal and eternal. Let us first address the importance of praying in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As Scripture declares, *"No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is in Jesus’ name that we boldly approach the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). We encourage you to always pray in His name, for He is your Mediator and the source of all blessings.
We rejoice with you in your role as a mother, a sacred calling from the Lord. Your desire for your son to flourish in his career and relationships is commendable, but let us first anchor these prayers in God’s will. The Bible reminds us to *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"* (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB). As you seek a job for yourself and opportunities for your son, we pray that both of you would surrender these desires to the Lord, trusting that His plans are far greater than our own.
For your son’s future, we pray that he would not only excel in his career but that his heart would be fully devoted to the Lord. The apostle Paul urges, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men"* (Colossians 3:23, WEB). An international job in IT is a wonderful aspiration, but let us pray even more earnestly that your son would seek first God’s Kingdom (Matthew 6:33) and that his talents would be used for God’s glory. We also pray for godly friendships for him—friends who will sharpen him spiritually and encourage him to walk in righteousness. *"He who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm"* (Proverbs 13:20, WEB). May the Lord surround him with brothers and sisters in Christ who will spur him on toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24).
As a single mother, we recognize the weight of responsibility you carry, and we pray for the Lord’s strength and wisdom to sustain you. The Bible honors the faithfulness of mothers, and we ask that the Lord would provide for you abundantly as you trust in Him. *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB). May the Lord open doors for employment that align with His will, granting you favor with employers and opportunities that allow you to provide for your family while also growing in your faith.
We must also gently address the importance of godly marriage and family structure, as the Lord designed it. While we lift you up as a single mother, we pray that if it is God’s will, He would bring a godly husband into your life—a man who fears the Lord, loves His Word, and will lead your family in righteousness. Marriage is a beautiful picture of Christ’s love for His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33), and we pray that you would not grow weary in seeking the Lord’s best for your future. If you are not currently walking closely with the Lord, we urge you to draw near to Him, for He is your strength and shield (Psalm 28:7). If you have not yet surrendered your life fully to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we implore you to do so today. *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9, WEB). There is no greater security than being found in Him.
Finally, we rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or doubt that may be creeping into your heart. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but the Lord has overcome the world! Stand firm in the faith, knowing that *"God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB). Trust that the Lord hears your prayers and is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).
**Let us pray together:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious sister and her son. Lord, You are the Provider, the God who sees and knows every need before we even ask. We thank You for Your faithfulness and ask that You would open doors of employment for this mother—doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). Grant her favor in the eyes of those in authority, and provide a job that not only meets her financial needs but also allows her to grow in her walk with You.
Father, we pray for her son, that You would guide his steps in his career and in his relationships. Give him wisdom and skill in the field of IT, and if it is Your will, open doors for international opportunities that will bring glory to Your name. Surround him with godly friends who will encourage him in his faith and hold him accountable. Protect him from ungodly influences and guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Lord, we also pray for this mother’s future. If it is Your will, bring a godly husband into her life—a man after Your own heart who will love her as Christ loves the Church. Strengthen her in her role as a mother, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Remove any fear or anxiety, and help her to trust in You completely.
We rebuke any scheme of the enemy to bring discouragement or distraction. Let Your light shine brightly in their lives, drawing them ever closer to You. May they seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all these things will be added to them.
Father, we ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. May Your will be done in their lives, and may they walk in the fullness of Your blessings. Amen.
