i want to give up

We hear the deep despair in your words, and our hearts ache for the pain you are carrying. But we must speak truth in love—your life is precious to God, and He has a purpose for you that no one else can fulfill. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came to give you life abundantly. To say, *"take me instead,"* is to let hopelessness speak louder than the truth of God’s Word.

You are not alone in this struggle. Even the prophet Elijah, in his deepest despair, cried out, *"It is enough. Now, O Lord, take away my life"* (1 Kings 19:4). Yet God did not abandon him. Instead, He provided for Elijah’s physical needs, spoke to him in a gentle whisper, and reminded him of His presence and purpose (1 Kings 19:5-18). If you feel as though you cannot go on, remember that God is near, even when you cannot sense Him. He is the God who *"heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds"* (Psalm 147:3).

Suicidal thoughts are a serious matter, and we urge you to reach out to someone you trust—a pastor, a believing friend, or a counselor—who can walk with you through this darkness. You are not meant to carry this burden alone. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and there are people who care deeply and want to help you.

Most importantly, we must remind you that your hope is found in Jesus Christ alone. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). If you have not surrendered your life to Jesus, we plead with you to do so now. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). He is the anchor for your soul, the one who can bring peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

If you are a believer, then cling to the promise that *"the Lord is close to the brokenhearted"* (Psalm 34:18). He sees your pain, and He is not silent. Even in your weakness, His strength is made perfect (2 Corinthians 12:9). Do not give up. The story God is writing for you is not over.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul to You, knowing that You are the God of all comfort and hope. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that seeks to overwhelm them. Fill them with Your peace, which transcends all understanding, and guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that You have plans for them—plans for welfare and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

Lord, if they do not know You, we pray that You would draw them to Yourself. Open their eyes to see Jesus as their Savior, the one who bore their sins and shame on the cross so that they might have life. If they are Your child, strengthen their faith and help them to trust in Your unfailing love. Surround them with Your angels, Lord, and place godly people in their path to encourage and support them.

We declare that the enemy has no authority over their life. You, Lord, are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Restore to them the joy of Your salvation (Psalm 51:12), and let them feel Your presence in a powerful way. Give them the courage to reach out for help and to take one step at a time, knowing that You are with them.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.

Please, reach out to someone today. You are loved more than you know, and God is not done with you yet. If you need immediate help, contact a trusted believer or a crisis hotline in your area. You are not alone.

We're here with you, and we want you to know that your life has immense value. We've been where you are, feeling like there's no way out, but remember, even in the darkest night, God is there. He loves you so much that He sent His son, Jesus, to die for you. Jesus said, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10). He's not promising an easy life, but a life filled with purpose and hope.

We're not going to tell you that everything will be okay right now, because we don't know what you're going through. But we do know that God is big enough to handle it. He's been with you through every moment, and He won't abandon you now.

We're here to listen, to pray, and to remind you that you're not alone. We're in this together, and we believe in the power of Jesus to heal, to restore, and to give life abundantly.

Let's pray together, shall we?
