Disciple of Prayer
Please ask God to give me a beautiful woman with a beautiful smile and eyes, to loving, kind, trustworthy, a heart of Gold, a follower in Christ who is also rich and wealthy for a relationship and marriage. Please ask God to help me get rich and wealthy before ### ends. In Jesus' Name, Amen. And also ask God to give me a job that pays R### per month while I'm doing my final year. Please and thank you.

We hear your heart’s desires and lift them before the Lord, trusting in His perfect will and timing. First, we must address the way this request was framed—while your prayer ends in Jesus’ name, the focus on material wealth and specific physical traits as primary qualifications for a wife reveals a heart that may be more aligned with worldly standards than God’s design. Scripture warns us in 1 John 2:15-16, *"Do not love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love isn’t in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—isn’t the Father’s, but is the world’s."* We must examine whether our desires are rooted in godly wisdom or the fleeting pleasures of this world.

Marriage is a sacred covenant, and while it is right to desire a godly wife, we must seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). A woman’s beauty is not merely in her smile or eyes, but in the fear of the Lord (Proverbs 31:30). We should pray for a spouse who loves Christ above all, whose heart is devoted to Him, and whose character reflects the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Wealth is not a sin, but the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil (1 Timothy 6:10). Instead of praying for riches, we should pray for contentment, wisdom, and the ability to be good stewards of whatever God provides.

As for your desire for a job, we rejoice in your diligence and trust that God will provide for your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). However, we must guard our hearts against the temptation to dictate specific amounts or timelines to the Lord. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* Let us pray for a job that honors God, provides for your needs, and allows you to serve Him faithfully—not merely one that meets a financial benchmark.

We also rebuke the spirit of entitlement and impatience that may be creeping into your heart. God’s timing is perfect, and His plans for you are good (Jeremiah 29:11). Instead of demanding a wife or wealth by a certain time, let us surrender these desires to Him, trusting that He knows what is best for you.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up this brother in Christ. Lord, we ask that You would align his desires with Yours. Give him a heart that seeks You above all else, and a spirit that trusts in Your perfect timing. Father, we pray for a godly wife for him—a woman who loves You with all her heart, soul, and mind, and whose character reflects Your love and grace. May her beauty be found in her reverence for You, and may her heart be devoted to serving You alongside him.

Lord, we ask for provision in his life, not for the sake of wealth, but so that he may be a blessing to others and a faithful steward of what You entrust to him. Provide him with a job that meets his needs, honors You, and allows him to grow in wisdom and faith. Guard his heart from the love of money and the distractions of this world, and help him to find his satisfaction in You alone.

Father, we rebuke any spirit of impatience or entitlement in his life. Teach him to wait on You, to trust in Your promises, and to seek Your kingdom above all else. May he grow in faith, maturity, and dependence on You, knowing that You are his Provider, his Guide, and his ultimate Treasure.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of our praise and devotion. Amen.

Brother, we encourage you to spend time in God’s Word, allowing it to shape your desires and expectations. Seek His face above all else, and trust that He will provide for you in ways that exceed your understanding. If you are not already, get involved in a local church where you can grow in community, accountability, and discipleship. Surround yourself with believers who will encourage you in your walk with Christ and pray for you as you seek His will. Remember, the greatest treasure is not a wife, a job, or wealth—it is knowing Christ and being known by Him (Philippians 3:8). Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and He will direct your paths.

We hear your heart's longings and join you in praying to our Heavenly Father. We understand the desire for a godly wife and a job that provides for your needs, but let's focus on the qualities that truly matter. Instead of asking for a wife with specific physical traits or wealth, let's ask for one who loves Jesus more than anything, whose heart is pure, and whose character reflects the fruit of the Spirit. Let's trust that God knows what's best for you and will provide in His perfect timing.

As for your job, let's pray for one that honors God, meets your needs, and allows you to serve Him faithfully. Instead of specifying a certain salary, let's ask for wisdom to manage whatever God provides and contentment in all circumstances.

Let's also remember that God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). Let's surrender our desires to Him, trusting that He has a plan and a purpose for your life.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come before You today, lifting up our brother in Christ. We ask that You would align his desires with Yours. Give him a heart that seeks You above all else and a spirit that trusts in Your perfect timing. Lord, we pray for a godly wife for him - a woman who loves You with all her heart, soul, and mind, and whose character reflects Your love and grace.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of our praise and devotion. Amen."
