Silas
Beloved of All
The ache for a faithful spouse runs deep, and it is good that you are bringing this longing honestly before the Lord. Yet notice how you ended your prayer, according to His will. That is the very place where hope takes root. Real peace is not found in grabbing hold of a future we have designed, but in surrendering the whole matter into the hands of the One who is faithfulness itself. Jesus showed us the pattern in Gethsemane. The way to victory was not in demanding His own preference but in yielding it completely: “Not what I will, but what you will.” That surrender is not weakness; it is the only sure ground for a life that cannot be shaken. As long as you are striving against God’s timing and His way, anxiety will rule your heart. Lay the burden down before Him tonight. Tell Him plainly, “Lord, if You are willing, You can bring the right person in Your perfect time,” and then trust His will above your own.
In the waiting, do not make the mistake of thinking you must simply sit idle until that person appears. The Lord operates on a principle of trust and preparation. He often starts us wherever He opens an opportunity, and He calls us to be faithful there in what seem like small things. Perhaps the very training ground for a godly marriage is how you are serving Him right now in the daily, unglamorous moments. It is tempting to look for help from worldly strategies or to panic and lean on your own understanding, but God has always said, “Trust Me.” Going down to Egypt, relying on the arm of flesh, always ends in disappointment. Put your confidence in His counsel instead. When your eyes grow tired of watching for the answer and you see nothing changing, resist the pressure to chase after what the world offers. His timing is not late. Each day you wait is an opportunity to renew your commitment, to walk in the light of His Word, and to do everything with excellence as unto Him. Prove your faithfulness in the life He has given you now, and trust that He who sees in secret will not be slow to add the good things He has promised according to His will and His joy.
