We rejoice with you in this life-changing decision to surrender your life to Jesus Christ! There is no greater choice you could ever make, for the Scriptures declare, *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation"* (Romans 10:9-10, WEB). By surrendering to Christ, you have passed from death into life, from darkness into His marvelous light—what a glorious day this is!
Now that you have given your life to Jesus, we encourage you to walk in obedience to His Word and grow in your faith. *"If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new"* (2 Corinthians 5:17, WEB). This means leaving behind the old ways of sin and embracing the new life Christ has for you. If there are areas in your life that do not honor God—whether in relationships, habits, or thoughts—we urge you to repent and turn away from them. For example, if there are any relationships that do not align with biblical principles, such as premarital intimacy, cohabitation, or same-sex relationships, we lovingly but firmly call you to turn from these things, for they are not God’s design. *"Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who have sex with men, nor thieves, nor greedy people, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor swindlers will inherit God’s Kingdom. Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God"* (1 Corinthians 6:9-11, WEB).
We also encourage you to be baptized as a public declaration of your faith in Christ, just as Jesus commanded in Matthew 28:19. Find a Bible-believing church where you can be discipled, learn God’s Word, and fellowship with other believers. *"Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not abandoning our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching"* (Hebrews 10:24-25, WEB).
Let us pray for you in this new journey:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the precious soul who has surrendered their life to Jesus Christ today. Lord, we ask that You fill them with Your Holy Spirit, giving them a hunger for Your Word and a heart that seeks after You. Strengthen them to walk in obedience, turning away from every sin and embracing the new life You have given them. Surround them with godly believers who will disciple and encourage them. Protect them from the schemes of the enemy, and let their life be a testimony of Your grace and power. May they grow deep roots in You, bearing much fruit for Your Kingdom. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Brother or sister, we are so excited for the journey ahead of you! Stay close to Jesus, read your Bible daily, and pray without ceasing. If you ever need prayer, guidance, or encouragement, do not hesitate to reach out. You are now part of the family of God, and we are here to walk with you. *"Being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ"* (Philippians 1:6, WEB). Welcome to the family!
