I stand by the lives of Moses and David

We join you in bringing this desire for victory before our Father and we want to seek His will together with you in Jesus' name.

We hear your heart crying out for deliverance and triumph as God gave to Moses and David, and we understand the longing to see God show Himself strong on your behalf. Yet we want to gently correct and encourage you in how we approach God in prayer. We do not stand or swear by the lives of Moses or David or any man, for our confidence and our oath is in Christ alone. Jesus taught us, But I tell you, don’t swear at all Matthew 5:34, and the Scriptures remind us there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5. Moses and David were faithful servants, but our victory does not come by invoking their lives, it comes through the living Son of God. We also notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only by His name that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation Romans 10:9-10.

Regarding enemies, the Word shows us that our true battle is spiritual. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds 2 Corinthians 10:4. God did give David and Moses great deliverance, for David declared, Yahweh is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer Psalm 18:2, but God also calls us to a higher way concerning those who oppose us. Our Lord says, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44, and we are commanded, Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. Absolute victory in Christ does not always mean the destruction of people who oppose us, but it does mean overwhelming triumph over sin, fear, oppression, and the schemes of the enemy, for in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us Romans 8:37.

So we pray for you now that God will give you victory according to His perfect will and for His glory.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we lift up this dear one to Your throne of grace. We ask that You forgive any sin and cleanse this heart through the blood of Jesus, and that You become this one's refuge and strength. Lord, grant victory over every spiritual enemy, every temptation, every fear and every oppression that seeks to hold this life captive. We ask that You fight for this one as You fought for Moses and David, not by our own power but by Your Spirit, for You have said, Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit Zechariah 4:6. If there are human enemies, we place them into Your hands, asking You to deal with them justly and mercifully, to soften hearts where there can be reconciliation, to bring conviction where there is wrongdoing, and to protect Your child from harm. Teach this one to love and to pray for those who oppose, and to leave vengeance to You, while walking in holiness and courage. Let this life be a testimony that You are our deliverer and that no weapon formed against us shall prosper. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to abide in Christ daily, to put on the whole armor of God, to walk in obedience and forgiveness, and to trust that God will vindicate you in His time. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall be still Exodus 14:14.

We hear the weight in your prayer and your desire for God to stand with you the way He stood with Moses and David. Wanting Him to defend you when you feel surrounded by opposition is an honest place to bring to Him.

We understand that longing for absolute victory. Moses and David both knew long seasons of waiting and hardship even while God was with them, and God shaped them through that process as much as He delivered them. Sometimes what feels like enemies are people who have hurt us, sometimes it is spiritual pressure, and sometimes it is our own fear and weariness that needs God's care. Bringing that honestly to Him helps us see more clearly what we are facing and how He wants to lead us.

One simple step that may help is to take a quiet moment to name before the Lord what you mean when you say enemies. Write down the specific situations or relationships that feel threatening, and ask Him to show you what is yours to do, what needs a healthy boundary, and what you can entrust fully to His hands. If you have a trusted pastor or mature believer, sharing that list with them can bring added wisdom and support.

Father, we lift our brother to You and ask for Your protection, wisdom and peace over his life. Guard his heart from bitterness, guide his steps, and let him know Your nearness and justice in the way You know is best. Lead him in Your will and keep him steady in Your care. In Jesus' name, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

The cry you lift before the Lord for absolute victory over your enemies is one which He delights to hear when it is offered in the name of His Son. Moses and David were men greatly beloved and greatly delivered, yet their victories were but shadows of a greater triumph. Moses saw Pharaoh overthrown and Israel brought forth with a high hand, and David could say, I have pursued mine enemies and overtaken them, Thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone. But both would tell you that deliverance was not of their own sword. He brought them forth. It was of Free Grace only.

You do well to stand by their lives, yet look beyond them to Him who is greater than Moses and greater than David. Jesus wins the victory, but He will not enjoy it alone, He will glorify His people. On the cross the Seed of the woman trampled on the serpent, and Satan's power was broken. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. That is the substantial victory for which you must first plead, victory over sin, over Satan who shoots his fiery arrow that God has forsaken thee, and over the world which would entangle your soul.

If your enemies be men who compass you about like dogs that bay all night, hear the word of David for your present case, My soul, wait thou only upon God, for my expectation is from Him. God has not given you over unto death. Though He chasten sorely, He thinks upon you still, and He makes deliverance effectual. When the Lamb was slain the captivity was broken, and where we look for justification there also we must look for sanctification and daily keeping.

Let us pray for you that you may share in Christ's conquest, for when the Head is crowned the members share the honor, and the soles of the feet are victorious when the Head has won the crown.

O Father, give to this thy servant power and victory through Jesus Christ our Lord. Break the power of sin and of Satan over him, and keep him from the archers that would wound his peace. Teach him to wait only upon Thee, and to prove that Thou hast not forsaken him. Let him live and not die, but declare the works of the Lord, and divide the spoil with Christ the Strong Conqueror. Grant that being more than conqueror through Him that loved us, he may sing with Deborah a song of deliverance, and give all glory to Thy free grace. In the name of Jesus our Ransom, who has found the price and paid it, Amen.
