I really prayed and cried a lot... 😭

Beloved of All
I have problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot... 😭

We hear the deep anguish and sincerity in your cry, and we stand with you in this battle against the sins that have ensnared you. You have done well to bring this struggle before the Lord, for He is faithful to forgive and cleanse those who repent and seek His face. The fact that you are grieving over these sins shows that the Holy Spirit is at work in your heart, convicting you and drawing you toward holiness. This is not a battle you must fight alone—God is with you, and He has given you brothers and sisters in Christ to stand alongside you in prayer and accountability.

The sins you mention—pornography, masturbation, flirting with lustful intent, and sexual immorality—are serious before the Lord. They defile the temple of the Holy Spirit, which is your body, and they distort the beautiful design God has for sexuality within the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman. The Scriptures warn us clearly:

*"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, WEB)

*"But I tell you that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart."* (Matthew 5:28, WEB)

*"For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God."* (1 Thessalonians 4:3-5, WEB)

These sins are not just habits to break—they are rebellions against God’s holy design, and they open the door to spiritual bondage. But take heart, brother or sister, for the blood of Jesus is more powerful than any sin! The same God who raised Christ from the dead can raise you from this pit and set you on a path of righteousness. Your struggle is not unique, and many have found freedom through the power of Christ. The key is total surrender—not just wanting the sins to go away, but yielding every part of your life to the Lordship of Jesus.

You have rightly asked for a renewed mind, and this is essential. The battle against sexual sin begins in the mind. You must starve the fleshly desires by refusing to feed them with lustful images, fantasies, or interactions. This will require radical measures: filtering your internet, avoiding triggers, and even cutting off relationships or activities that lead you into temptation. Jesus said, *"If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna."* (Matthew 5:29, WEB) While He speaks hyperbolically, the principle is clear: take drastic action to remove sin from your life.

We also urge you to fill your mind with the Word of God. Memorize Scripture, especially verses that combat lust and affirm your identity in Christ. Meditate on passages like Philippians 4:8: *"Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report—if there is any virtue or any praise, think about these things."* Replace the lies of the enemy with the truth of God’s Word. The more you saturate your mind with Scripture, the less room there will be for sinful thoughts.

Accountability is another critical weapon in this fight. You cannot overcome this alone. Seek out a mature believer of the same gender—someone who will ask you the hard questions, pray with you, and hold you accountable without judgment. Confess your struggles to them, and allow them to walk with you in this journey. James 5:16 tells us, *"Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."*

Most importantly, you must abide in Christ daily. Spend time in prayer, not just asking for deliverance but worshiping Him for who He is. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8). When temptation comes—and it will—cry out to Jesus immediately. He is your High Priest who understands your weaknesses and intercedes for you (Hebrews 4:15-16). There is no shame in your struggle when you bring it to Him. His grace is sufficient for you, and His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Now, let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is burdened by the weight of sexual sin. Lord, You see the tears they have shed, the battles they have fought, and the desperation in their heart to be free. We thank You that You do not despise a broken and contrite spirit, but You draw near to those who call on You in truth.

Father, we ask for Your mercy and forgiveness for every sin committed. Wash them clean by the blood of Jesus and create in them a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:10). Break the chains of bondage that have held them captive, and set them free by the power of Your Spirit. Lord, You have said that if the Son sets us free, we are free indeed (John 8:36). We claim that promise now and declare freedom over their life in Jesus’ name!

Lord, we pray for a radical renewal of their mind. Transform their thoughts by the washing of Your Word (Ephesians 5:26). Give them wisdom to recognize and flee from temptation. Fill them with the Holy Spirit so that they may walk in self-control and purity. Help them to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). When the enemy whispers lies, let them hear Your voice louder, reminding them that they are Your beloved child, bought with a price, and called to holiness.

Father, surround them with godly accountability. Bring brothers or sisters into their life who will stand with them in this fight, who will pray with them and encourage them. Give them the humility to confess their struggles and the courage to walk in repentance.

Lord, we ask that You would place a holy fear of You in their heart—a fear that drives them away from sin and into Your arms. Let them see the ugliness of these sins as You see them, and give them a hatred for what dishonors You. At the same time, fill them with Your love, that they may know they are not defined by their failures but by Your grace.

We rebuke the spirit of lust, pornography, and sexual immorality in Jesus’ name. We command these strongholds to be torn down by the power of the Holy Spirit. No weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, fill the void in their heart with more of You, that they may find their satisfaction in Christ alone.

Father, we pray for a divine encounter with You. Speak to them in a way they cannot ignore. Let them hear Your voice clearly, assuring them of Your love and Your power to deliver. Give them a vision of the life You have called them to—a life of purity, purpose, and intimacy with You.

We thank You, Lord, for the victory that is already won through Jesus Christ. We trust that You who began a good work in them will complete it (Philippians 1:6). Strengthen them for the days ahead, and let this season of struggle become a testimony of Your grace and power.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

Brother/sister, this battle is not easy, but it is worth fighting. Do not grow weary in doing what is right, for in due season you will reap a harvest of righteousness if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Every day you choose purity, you are storing up treasure in heaven and drawing closer to the heart of God. He is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. With every temptation, He will provide a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13).

If you stumble, do not stay in condemnation. Repent immediately, receive God’s forgiveness, and get back up. The enemy wants you to believe you are beyond hope, but that is a lie. Your identity is not in your sin—it is in Christ. You are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17), and the old has passed away.

We will continue to pray for you. Stay in the Word, stay in prayer, and stay in fellowship with believers who will encourage you. The Lord is your strength, and He will lead you to victory. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He who calls you is faithful, and He will do it (1 Thessalonians 5:24).

Dear friend, we hear your cry and we're here with you. We know the struggle is real, but remember, you're not alone. We're fighting alongside you, and so is Jesus.

We want to encourage you with these words from the Psalms, "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me" (Psalm 51:10). God is ready and willing to do this in you. Trust in His power and willingness to help you overcome these struggles.

Let's claim this promise together: "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Let's also pray for you right now:

"Father, we come to You in Jesus' name. We lift up our ### who's struggling with pornography, masturbation, flirting, and sexual sins. Lord, we ask for Your mercy and forgiveness. Wash them clean by the blood of Jesus and create in them a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within them.
