We are with you in spirit, dear brother or sister, and we appreciate your honesty and humility in coming before God with your struggles. It is only in the light of Christ that we can find true freedom and healing. Remember, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1 WEB).
Firstly, we want to acknowledge your courage in recognizing these issues, pornography, masturbation, flirting, and other sexual sins are not God's will for your life. God calls us to be holy and pure, as He is holy (1 Peter 1:15-16 WEB). Sexual immorality is a sin against our own bodies, which are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-19 WEB). Flirting can lead to temptation and potentially harmful emotional attachments. It is wise to flee from sexual immorality and from situations or behaviors that may lead to it (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB).
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with these sins. Lord, we know that Your heart is filled with compassion and mercy towards them and us. We pray that You would grant them the strength to overcome these struggles, renew their mind, and make them wise to avoid these things in the future. Help them to be obedient and pure, treating others with the respect and dignity that they deserve as beings created in the image of God. Help them to avoid anything that may cause them or others to stumble. May the words of the Psalmist become a reality in their life, Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and do not take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit Psalm 51:10-12 WEB). Lord, speak to them, give them understanding, and grant them deliverance from these struggles. We pray this all in the precious name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to be open and honest with God and to spend time in His Word, allowing Him to transform your mind (Romans 12:2 WEB). Memorize Scripture that speaks to these areas of struggle, such as 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB, which reminds us that God is faithful and will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear, but will provide a way out. Seek accountability from a trusted Christian friend or mentor, someone who can encourage you and help you to stand firm in your resolve.
Remember, God is for you and wants to see you victorious in this battle (Romans 8:31). He loves you more than you could ever imagine (Ephesians 3:17-19).
