We hear the simplicity of your heart’s cry, and we join with you in lifting these personal prayers before the throne of grace. It is good and right to bring our needs and desires before God, for He invites us to cast all our anxieties on Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). However, we must also remember that our prayers are not merely about receiving blessings or having our wishes granted, but about aligning our hearts with God’s will. Jesus taught us to pray, "Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:10). This reminds us that our prayers should seek God’s purposes above our own, trusting that His plans for us are good, even when they differ from our desires.
We also want to gently remind you that prayer is not a transaction where we simply ask for what we want and expect God to comply. Prayer is a relationship, a conversation with our Heavenly Father, who knows what we need before we ask Him (Matthew 6:8). It is through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so, for He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Salvation comes by grace through faith in Him, not by our own works, so that no one can boast (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up this dear one who has poured out their prayers to You. Lord, we ask that You would draw near to them and let them feel Your presence in a tangible way. Help them to trust in Your goodness and sovereignty, knowing that You work all things together for the good of those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Father, we ask that You would grant their requests according to Your will, but even more, we pray that You would shape their desires to align with Yours. May they seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, and trust that all these things will be added to them (Matthew 6:33).
Lord, if there is any area of their life that is not surrendered to You, reveal it to them. Help them to walk in obedience and holiness, for without holiness, no one will see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). If they have not yet placed their faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict their heart and lead them to repentance and faith. May they confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that God raised Him from the dead, so that they may be saved (Romans 10:9).
We also pray for wisdom and discernment for this dear one. May they not lean on their own understanding, but in all their ways acknowledge You, so that You can direct their paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). Father, bless them indeed, and enlarge their territory, but let Your hand be with them, and keep them from evil, that it may not grieve them (1 Chronicles 4:10).
In all things, may Your name be glorified, and may this dear one grow in their love and knowledge of You. We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking God not just for what He can give you, but for who He is. Spend time in His Word, for it is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Surround yourself with fellow believers who can encourage you in your walk with Christ, and remember that God is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Keep pressing into Him, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).
