I pray for a god filled day

We rejoice with you that today is good and that your heart desires a God filled day and victory over lust. That desire itself is from the Lord and we join you in seeking His will together in Jesus name.

We understand the battle against lust is real and Scripture does not treat it lightly. Jesus taught that lust begins in the heart when He said that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart in Matthew 5:28. We are called to flee sexual immorality as 1 Corinthians 6:18 says, Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. And we are told in 2 Timothy 2:22 to flee youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

A God filled day comes when we intentionally fill our minds and hearts with Him rather than leaving them empty for temptation to enter. We are encouraged in Philippians 4:8 to think on whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report. And Psalm 119:11 reminds us, I have hidden your word within my heart, that I might not sin against you. When we walk by the Spirit we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh as Galatians 5:16 teaches.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and can live a God filled life. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 tells us there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To be filled with God we must first be reconciled to Him through faith in Jesus Christ, believing He died for our sins and rose again, and calling on His name.

We pray together for you now.

Father, we thank You for this good day You have made and for the desire You have placed in this heart to walk closely with You today. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ that You fill this dear one with Your Holy Spirit, with Your peace and Your presence. Wash away any guilt from past struggles with lust by the blood of Jesus as we confess our sins and receive Your forgiveness according to 1 John 1:9. Give strength to flee temptation, to turn the eyes away, to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, and to make no provision for the flesh. Help us to walk in purity as You designed sexuality to be honored within the lifelong covenant of marriage between a man and a woman. Fill our minds with Your Word, our time with prayer and worship, and our steps with purpose for Your glory. When temptation comes, provide the way of escape that You have promised in 1 Corinthians 10:13 so that we may endure. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to begin this good day by abiding in Christ through reading Scripture, praying without ceasing, and staying in fellowship with other believers who will keep you accountable. If lustful thoughts come, do not entertain them but immediately flee, pray, and redirect your mind to Christ. Remember that God is faithful and He will strengthen you to stand. Keep seeking Him and He will keep filling your day with His goodness.

Thank you for letting us pray with you today. We are encouraged to hear it is a good day and that you want to keep it full of God and walk free from lust. That desire itself matters and we want to stand with you in it.

Staying steady often comes down to not walking alone and having a plan before temptation shows up. When you are strong this morning is the best time to prepare for a weaker moment later. It helps to clear away what trips you up and to have someone who knows your goal and can check in honestly. If you have a trusted same gender friend or mentor, consider letting them know today what you are aiming for and asking if you can be accountable to each other with a quick daily check in. Even one faithful voice can lift you when you stumble and help you stay honest.

We also find it helps to fill the day intentionally, with time in prayer, work and rest, so there is less empty space for old patterns to return.

Father, we thank You for the good day You have given our friend. Draw close to him today, keep his heart and mind stayed on You, give him strength to turn away from lust and wisdom to walk in purity. Surround him with faithful support and help him know Your nearness hour by hour. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer for a God filled day is itself an evidence of grace at work within you, and I rejoice to hear you say it is good today. Give thanks for this mercy, for every good and holy desire comes from the Father of lights.

You do well to pray against falling into lust, for the Scripture gives us the pedigree of sin in plain words, when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death. Any sin, whatever it is, if we cling to it and love it, will bring forth death, rest assured of that. Charity and purity are the two great garments of Christianity, and charity without purity will be of no use, for without holiness no man shall see the Lord. To keep ourselves unspotted from the world is not left optional.

Our Lord taught us to pray, Lead us not into temptation. The word includes trial, for all temptation, even if it be temptation from Satan, is in fact trial from God, yet there is more than trial in the text. Temptation in itself is a thing very dangerous, and trials and distress are so perilous that it is right for the Christian to pray thus. God may in His providence put us where we are severely tried, or for a season withdraw the sensible supports of His grace, and we are so frail that we should soon fall. Therefore pray with an earnest heart, Oh, save me from the mischief of the temptation. Let me have the temptation if so it must be, but let it do me no hurt. Let me not stain my garments. Let me not slip nor slide, but may I stand fast at the end of the day.

Remember also this truth, never go into temptation. The man who prays Lead us not into temptation and then goes into it is a liar before God. Watch therefore over your eyes and your thoughts, and keep out of the way of that which would feed lust. A temptation may assail you, and if you hate it there is no sin in it to you, but a lust entertained and loved will soon conceive. Fill your heart with Christ. Worldlings do not understand the terms on which we are linked with Him, but to us He is alive, our familiar Friend. Look to Him for all things, and overcome evil by keeping near to Him who is Goodness itself.

I will pray for you, that the Lord may fill this day with Himself, that He may keep your feet from sliding and your garments unspotted, and that He may give you strength to stand fast, walking in purity and in love before Him. May He who is able to keep you from falling preserve you blameless through this day, and make you to rejoice in His presence.
