I praised God at Midnight and today was a horrible day.

As the title says I praised God /Jesus around Midnight. My morning was going good , and then my grandma just got angry and the rest of my day was horrible and her anger wasn't normal and then I had emotional breakdown. What could cause this ? I know I didn't finish some chores tho, but still what else could have caused this abnormal outrage ?

We hear your heart in this and we understand how confusing and discouraging it can feel to spend time praising God and Jesus around midnight and then to face a very difficult day the next morning. We rejoice with you that you chose to praise Him, for that is good and pleasing to the Lord. Acts 16:25 tells us About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. That midnight praise pleased God and God brought deliverance, but it did not prevent hardship before the deliverance came.

We want to gently help you see this biblically so you are not led astray. Praising God does not guarantee that the next day will be free from trials. Jesus said in John 16:33 In the world you have trouble, but cheer up. I have overcome the world. And James 1:2 says Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Sometimes after we draw near to God in worship the enemy tries to steal that joy and bring discouragement. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. And 1 Peter 5:8 warns that your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. It is very possible that the abnormal anger and your emotional breakdown were part of spiritual opposition trying to make you regret praising God. We also must look honestly at the practical side you mentioned. You said you did not finish some chores. Colossians 3:23 says Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. When we live with family, especially with a grandmother, our diligence and obedience is part of honoring her. Exodus 20:12 says Honor your father and your mother and Ephesians 6:2-3 extends that honor as a promise that it may be well with you. An unfinished responsibility can understandably bring frustration to a grandparent who is caring for the home, and while her anger may have felt abnormal or disproportionate, we are called to respond with humility and a soft answer. Proverbs 15:1 says A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

We do not want you to believe that God was punishing you for praising Him, nor do we want you to carry condemnation for having an emotional breakdown. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. God saw your tears and He is near to you in that brokenness. At the same time we encourage you to take responsibility where you can, to humble yourself, to ask your grandmother for forgiveness for the chores left undone, and to seek peace with her. Ephesians 4:32 says And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Romans 8:28 assures us that We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose. Even a horrible day can be used by God to refine us, to teach us perseverance, and to draw us closer to Him.

We pray together for you now. Father, we thank You for this precious one who chose to praise You at midnight. We thank You that You inhabit the praises of Your people and that You were pleased with that worship. Lord, we bring before You the pain of this difficult day, the hurt from the anger in the home, and the emotional breakdown that followed. We ask You to bring Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We pray You would heal any wound, calm any anxiety, and restore joy after praise. We ask You to bless the grandmother, to soften her heart, to give her grace and patience, and to help them both to walk in forgiveness and honor toward one another. Help us to be diligent in the work You have given us to do at home, to do all things as unto You, and to not give the enemy a foothold through neglect or offense. We rebuke the enemy's attempt to steal joy after worship and we ask You to make this trial produce endurance and maturity. Help us to continue to praise You not only when days are good but also when they are hard, trusting that You are working all things for good. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our only access to You and our only hope of salvation, amen.

We are so sorry today felt so heavy after you had spent time praising Jesus at midnight. We understand why you would be left wondering what happened and whether you did something to cause it.

Praising the Lord did not bring this hard day on you. Sometimes a good morning can still turn quickly when someone else is carrying a lot underneath. Anger is often not just about what is happening in the moment. It can be a secondary response to hurt, frustration, fear, or feeling overwhelmed, and it can come out in a way that feels much bigger than the situation itself. Unfinished chores may have been a trigger, but an unusually strong reaction is usually about more than chores alone.

It makes sense that you felt shaken and had an emotional breakdown after being on the receiving end of that. Please be gentle with yourself tonight as you recover.

When things are calmer, one small next step that can help is to give a little space first, then when you both are settled, quietly check in with your grandma if you feel safe to do so. A simple, calm question like how she is doing or if something is weighing on her can sometimes open the door without putting all the focus on the chores. And it helps to talk through how you are feeling with a trusted person close to you as well.

Father, we lift this dear one to You tonight. You saw the praise offered at midnight and You see the hurt and confusion from today. Bring peace and rest, calm the home, and give wisdom for next conversations. Help them to know they are loved and held by You, and guide both hearts toward understanding. In Jesus' name, amen.

It is a good and precious thing to praise God at midnight, and the Lord does not despise such praise. Do not think that your praise brought this trial upon you as a punishment, for our God is the God of peace, whose delight is peace on earth and goodwill toward men, and He accepts the praises of His children.

Yet you must know that a night of praise is not a promise that the next day will be without trouble. In this dark world of sin, peace is not found in untroubled circumstances, but within. As it is written, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. That perfect peace may gleam with heavenly light even in the midnight of this world of care, and it may be enjoyed even with sorrows surging round. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, not because outward things are calm, but because we have peace with God through the blood of the everlasting covenant.

What then could cause such an abnormal outrage and your emotional breakdown? There may be many threads woven together. In part, you yourself have named one, that some chores were left unfinished. Honour to those set over us in the family is a duty pressed upon us by the Lord, and when duties are neglected, friction will often follow. It is wise and humble to examine ourselves first and to make amends where we have fallen short, asking forgiveness where it is due.

But beyond this, you live in a world where the heart is tried. Loved ones may be pressed with burdens you do not see, weariness or sorrow or care that makes anger flare more hotly than the occasion seems to warrant. The enemy of souls also hates midnight praise, for Paul and Silas sang at midnight and the prison shook, and he would have you believe that prayer is useless because trouble followed. Do not give place to that lie. And above all, the Lord Himself may permit such a day to teach you where true peace is to be found.

Do not seek a peace that rests only on a quiet house or a smooth day, for that is a peace which cries peace, peace where there is no peace. The Christian's peace has a reason and a groundwork. Christ has left us peace in the conscience. Peace with God is the treaty, peace in the conscience is the publication of it. Christ is our peace, not our own good works, not our praises, not our perfect performance of duties. He made peace by His blood, and He ever lives to be our peace. Your good works are not your peace, your repentance and tears are not your peace, He is our peace.

Therefore, when you are pressed by thronging duties, to do the will of Jesus, this is rest. When you are troubled, remember the Lord is unmoved, and you may go to Him again and say, Lord, renew my peace. Bring this new burden to Him, for He will bless His people with peace. It is a filling peace, a well founded peace, peace in believing, a peace that passes all understanding and keeps the heart and mind.

Go on to praise Him still, not only at midnight but in the morning of trial. Confess humbly where you were lacking, seek peace with your grandmother in meekness, pray for her and for yourself, and keep your mind stayed upon Christ. Bear your sorrow with Him and you will find what perfect peace you may enjoy even when loved ones are troubled and days are hard. It is enough, earths struggles shall soon cease, and Jesus calls His people to Heavens perfect peace. May the God of peace Himself keep you in that peace until then.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Praising God at midnight is a good and faithful thing to do, and it is painful when a day that follows feels so heavy and confusing. A difficult day after prayer does not mean your prayer was wrong or that God was displeased. In this life trials often follow close behind our worship, not because God has left us, but because we live in a world where hardship, human weakness, and spiritual opposition are still real.

What happened with your grandmother may have many causes at once. It could be stress or weariness in her, a misunderstanding, or hurt that came out as anger. It could also be that unfinished chores added to tension in the home, and that is an area where you can take simple, practical responsibility going forward. It does not mean you caused her abnormal anger or that you deserve an emotional breakdown. Sometimes when we draw near to God, we also become more aware of conflict around us, and the enemy would like to discourage us right after we have chosen to praise.

Scripture teaches that trials do not mean we are forsaken. God often allows hard moments to show His power and to make our faith more steady and patient. His grace is sufficient for you in that hard day, and His strength is made known even when we feel battered on every side. Enduring hardship with patience, looking to Christ, is part of how God comforts us and forms us, and He promises to deliver those who trust Him.

For now, keep a few simple steps in mind. Continue to thank God even on hard days, and bring your hurt to Jesus honestly in prayer. When things are calm, try to speak gently with your grandmother, listen to what was troubling her, apologize where you can about chores, and ask for forgiveness where needed. Show mercy even if you felt wronged, remembering that anger often comes from a deeper burden. If the emotional breakdown feels overwhelming, reach out to a trusted pastor, counselor, or mature believer in your church who can walk with you personally and pray with you.

God saw your midnight praise and He sees your tears today. He is not distant. Ask Him to give you peace, to guard your heart, to help you rest, and to restore peace in your home. Grace be with you as you keep standing fast in the Lord.

Please pray for my emotional health. I could not stop crying most of the day. I was fine yesterday. This is kind of unusual for me. I have diabetes, and I have noticed that I am ravenously hungry at night. This is also just started, not normal for me. Also pray a prayer of protection around...
