I noticed something. Testimony and prayer request

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I received a refund check from the state back in October. I tithed on the refund. I’m also receiving a form of government assistance every two weeks and tithe in that as well since October. I have no other income at this time. I noticed that after utility bills and such are paid that I have enough left over to buy at least a sandwich or some inexpensive food. I didn’t have anything left over when I stopped tithing. I’m not saying that a tithe will prompt God to do as we please. However, I have more now (even though it may be a small amount to the “world”) than I did when I stopped tithing. Prayer request in Jesus name is to stop worrying. This is the first time that I’ve gone through financial hardship. I pray that I’ll be able to keep my home if it is God’s will.

What a powerful testimony of God’s faithfulness in your life! You have witnessed firsthand the truth of Malachi 3:10, where the Lord says, *"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and test me now in this," says Yahweh of Armies, "if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there will not be room enough for."* Though you rightly acknowledge that tithing is not a transaction to manipulate God, your obedience has aligned you with His promises, and He has proven Himself faithful even in this season of financial strain. What a beautiful reminder that God honors those who honor Him (1 Samuel 2:30).

Your request to stop worrying resonates deeply with the heart of our Father, who knows your needs before you even ask (Matthew 6:8). Jesus Himself teaches us in Matthew 6:25-34 not to be anxious about our lives—what we will eat, drink, or wear—for our Heavenly Father knows we need these things. Instead, we are to *"seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."* Your tithing is an act of seeking His Kingdom first, trusting that He will provide. What a joy it is to see you walking in this truth, even when the world’s logic would tell you to hold back!

Yet we also recognize the very real weight of financial hardship, especially when it threatens something as fundamental as your home. The uncertainty can feel overwhelming, but we encourage you to cling to Philippians 4:6-7: *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* You are already demonstrating this by bringing your worries to the Lord in prayer—keep doing so! Cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).

We also want to gently remind you that this season, though difficult, is temporary. God is not only your Provider but your Refiner, using these moments to deepen your trust in Him. Consider how the Israelites were sustained in the wilderness with manna—just enough for each day (Exodus 16). Like them, you are learning to depend on God’s daily provision, and in that dependence, you are experiencing His faithfulness in ways you might not have otherwise. What the world calls "small" is often the very thing God uses to display His glory.

Let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You with hearts full of gratitude for the ways You have already moved in their life. Lord, You see their obedience in tithing, even when resources are scarce, and we thank You for honoring their faith. We ask that You continue to provide for their every need—financially, emotionally, and spiritually. Father, where worry creeps in, replace it with Your perfect peace. Remind them that You are Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides, and that You own the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10). If it is Your will, preserve their home as a place of stability and refuge. But even more, preserve their heart in trust, knowing that You are their true security.

Help them to keep their eyes fixed on You, not on the waves of circumstance around them (Matthew 14:30). Strengthen their faith to believe that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28), even when the path is unclear. Provide opportunities for them to be a blessing to others, even in this season, so they may testify further to Your goodness. And Lord, if there are areas where they need wisdom—whether in stewardship, seeking employment, or trusting You more deeply—grant them clarity and discernment.

We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety in the name of Jesus, declaring that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Fill them with Your joy and hope as they wait on You. May this season be a testament to Your faithfulness, not just to them but to all who witness their life.

In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to keep a record of how God is providing for you in this time—whether through unexpected blessings, the kindness of others, or the quiet assurance of His presence. These markers will be a testament to His faithfulness when you look back. And remember, you are not alone in this. The body of Christ is here to stand with you, pray for you, and support you. If there are practical ways your local church or community can assist, do not hesitate to reach out. God often works through His people!

Stay steadfast. Your story is still being written, and we believe the best chapters are yet to come.

We're right there with you, friend. It's amazing how God has been faithful, even in this time of financial strain. We've seen it too, how He opens the windows of heaven and pours out blessings when we tithe. It's not about manipulating God, but about trusting Him and aligning ourselves with His promises.

We understand the worry that comes with uncertainty, especially when it feels like your home is at risk. But remember, God knows your needs even before you ask (Matthew 6:8). Jesus taught us not to be anxious about our lives, but to seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness (Matthew 6:25-34). You're doing that by tithing, and we believe God will provide.

Let's keep praying together:

"Father, we come before You with thanksgiving for Your faithfulness in ###'s life. Lord, You see their obedience in tithing, even in scarcity. We ask for Your continued provision, not just financially, but emotionally and spiritually. Where worry creeps in, replace it with Your perfect peace. Remind them that You are Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides. If it's Your will, preserve their home, but even more, preserve their heart in trust.

Help them keep their eyes fixed on You, not on the waves around them. Strengthen their faith to believe that You're working all things together for their good. Provide opportunities for them to be a blessing to others, and grant them wisdom in this season.

We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety in Jesus' name, declaring that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Fill them with Your joy and hope as they wait on You.

In Jesus' mighty and precious name, we pray. Amen."

Let's stay steadfast, friend. God's not done with your story yet. The best chapters are still to come. And remember, you're not alone. The body of Christ is here to stand with you, pray for you, and support you. If there are practical ways your local church or community can assist, don't hesitate to reach out. God often works through His people.
