Paunser

Disciple of Prayer
Dear bro/Sis in Christ,

Please pray for my well being. I feel like I am overworked and spending too little time with God. I am trying to do too many things at once. Not sure If I messed thing up again. Please Jesus show me the right way and to pause where needed. I am taking on another responsibility at work in a weeks time. Please guide me through the next two months so that I make the right decision at the right time. I am worried about my health condition and Jesus knows my condition and please pray for my healing and my family peace.

In Jesus Name, Amen.

We hear your heart in this season of weariness and we join with you in bringing every burden before the Lord together in Jesus name. It is a good and honest thing to recognize when we are overworked and spending too little time with God, and that you desire to pause and be shown the right way is pleasing to Him.

The Lord does not call us to carry everything in our own strength or to prove ourselves by doing too many things at once. We are reminded in Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. And again in Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God. He invites us to stillness, not striving, and to seek Him first above all our responsibilities. Matthew 6:33 But seek first Gods Kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.

We gently encourage you to take this conviction about spending too little time with God as the Holy Spirit prompting you to reorder your days. Even Jesus withdrew to quiet places to pray, as in Mark 6:31 Come away into a deserted place, and rest awhile. Guarding a daily time in the Word and in prayer is not an extra task but the source of wisdom and strength for every other task. We also encourage you to seek wise counsel before taking on another responsibility at work and to prayerfully count the cost, asking whether this is what God is asking of you in this season or whether it will further crowd out rest, health and family peace.

For your worry about health and the decisions before you in the next two months, we are comforted that the Lord knows your condition fully and cares deeply for you. 1 Peter 5:7 casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. Philippians 4:6 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. When we lack clarity, He promises wisdom generously. James 1:5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach and it will be given to him.

We lift you up now in prayer.

Father, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You that You see our brother and know every detail of his health, his work, his family and his heart. Lord, we ask You to forgive us when we try to do too much in our own strength and neglect quiet time with You. Draw him close again and help him to pause where needed, to be still and to rest in Your presence. Grant him wisdom for this new responsibility at work and for every decision in the coming two months, that he would make the right decision at the right time according to Your will and not merely his own understanding. We pray for Your healing touch upon his body, for renewed strength, for You are the One who gives power to the faint and increases the strength of him who has no might in Isaiah 40:29. Let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard his heart and fill his home, and let Your peace rest upon his family. Order his steps, lighten his burden, and teach him to walk in Your easy yoke. We trust You to guide him and to restore him. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to keep casting your cares on Him daily, to keep a simple and consistent time with the Lord in Scripture and prayer even if brief, and to trust Him to show you what to take up and what to lay down. Isaiah 41:10 Dont you be afraid, for I am with you. Dont be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. He is faithful to lead you one step at a time.

We hear how heavy this season feels, trying to carry so much at once while longing for more time with God and wondering if you have missed a step. It is understandable to feel stretched thin with another responsibility starting soon and health worries on your mind.

We have found it is often not a single busy week that wears us down, but going without real rest and recovery over time. Needing to pause does not mean you have failed, it can be wisdom that protects your health, your family and your walk with God.

In these next two months it may help to make a little space to listen before you decide. You could set aside ten or fifteen minutes each day with no agenda except to be quiet before the Lord, and write down everything you are currently carrying. Taking that list to a trusted pastor or mentor and, where appropriate, to your supervisor can help you see more clearly what to continue, what to pause, and what to share with others.

We also hear your concern about your health. We will pray for healing, and we encourage you to see your doctor for care alongside prayer.

Father, we bring our brother to You in Jesus name. You see his workload, his desire to walk closely with You, his health and his family. Give him wisdom for each decision in the weeks ahead, guard his health, and bring peace to his home. Lead him to the pauses You want for him and renew his strength day by day. Amen.

Your heart cry has been heard and we have brought it before the Lord with you. You speak of being overworked and of spending too little time with God, of trying to do too many things at once and of fearing you have missed the way, and of a new responsibility coming within a week and two months before you that feel weighty, together with concern for your health and for peace in your family.

The Lord Jesus gives a present rest, rest now, not rest after a time of probation and growth, but rest given when we come to Him, there and then. He says, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, and ye shall find rest unto your souls. There are two rests here, the rest He gives and the rest we find as we learn of Him. True rest to the child of God is rest on the wing, rest in motion, rest in service, not rest with the yoke off, but with the yoke on, taken voluntarily in love to Him. Let your mind be made like the mind of Christ, and you shall find a deep rest, a growing rest, an abiding rest which you shall go on to find more and more.

So we pray that you may rest in the Lord Himself, not merely in His gifts, but in Him. That is contentment and perfect satisfaction with your lot as ordered by His hand, and quietness under His vine and fig tree while you look for a yet deeper rest in God. Trust and you shall rest. Return unto your rest, and learn of Him day by day in the Word and in prayer, even in brief and faithful seasons set apart from business and care.

For your health we look to Him from whom abundant streams of healing flow. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, and His leaves, the little things as it were about Him, are full of healing virtue to change the life blood and make the nature new. When the Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings, pardon and healing are in His hand. We ask Him to lay His hand upon your body according to His wisdom and mercy, to sustain you, to give skill to those who care for you, and to give you peace whether He restores at once or keeps you in His gentle school.

We pray also for your home, that the Lord would keep your family in His peace which passes understanding, and that every decision in these next two months may be made in the light of His Word and in dependence upon His Spirit.

Let us pray. O Lord our God, Thou knowest this Thy servant, overladen and anxious, pulled in many directions and fearing to err. Give rest, even now, to this weary soul. Teach this one to take Thy yoke and learn of Thee, who art meek and lowly in heart. Show the right way and teach to pause where pausing is Thy will. Guide through the new responsibility and through the next two months, that every decision may be made at the right time and in the right way, for Thy glory. Look in mercy upon the body, Thou great Physician, and if it be Thy will, restore health and strength, and in all things give patience and trust. Let Christ dwell in this home and let His peace rule there. Keep this dear one near to Thyself, abiding in Thy Word, hearing Thy voice and following Thee. We ask all in the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour and rest, Amen.
