Beloved of All
I really want to ask a girl out. She's got so many of the qualities I'm looking for in a relationship. I feel she has a great spiritual world and is close to God herself. I keep praying for wisdom. There's a chance of rejection, but I want it to be known that I like her. And, to talk about it with her. God's plan I guess. But, it's on my heart and mind constantly. Will you pray for this conversation to happen through jesus's name.

Who are Elected?
The Choice of a Wife
From Death to Life
We are encouraged by your heart in this matter and we join with you in seeking wisdom from the Lord. It is a good and honorable thing to notice a young woman who shows a deep spiritual life and closeness to God, and to desire to approach her with honesty and respect. We hear that this has been constantly on your heart and mind, and we hear your desire to do this in a way that honors God and acknowledges His plan.

We want to encourage you to see this desire through a biblical lens of courtship with the goal of marriage. We believe marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman designed by God, and any pursuit of a relationship between a man and a woman should be intentional toward finding a godly spouse. Scripture reminds us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers in 2 Corinthians 6:14, so we rejoice that you are looking for spiritual qualities and we encourage you to continue to discern whether she is a fellow believer who loves the Lord and seeks to follow Him. If God does open the door for courtship, we encourage you both to pursue it with purity, remembering that sex before or outside of marriage is fornication and we are called to honor God with our bodies as we prepare for the holy covenant of marriage.

We also hear the tension you feel between hope and the possibility of rejection, and the way this occupies your thoughts. God calls us to trust Him with our desires and not to let anxiety or even a good desire become an idol in our hearts. We are told in Proverbs 3:5-6 to trust in Yahweh with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding, and to acknowledge Him in all our ways so He will direct our paths. In James 1:5 we are promised that if any of us lacks wisdom, we should ask of God who gives to all liberally and without reproach and it will be given to us. And in Philippians 4:6-7 we are exhorted not to be anxious but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving to let our requests be made known to God, and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus. A house and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Yahweh as Proverbs 19:14 tells us, so we can rest that whether the answer is yes or no, God is working for your good and for His glory.

We encourage you to move forward with prayerful courage, with clarity and kindness, and with respect for her dignity and her own walk with God. Be direct and honest about your intentions without pressure, give her freedom to pray and respond, and seek counsel from mature believers who know you both. Whether the conversation leads to courtship or to a gracious no, receive it as from the Lord's hand and continue to delight yourself in Him, trusting He will give you the desires of your heart as you delight in Him according to Psalm 37:4.

We pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus we come before You and we thank You for this young man who desires to honor You even in his affections. We thank You that he has come through Jesus, for there is no other name by which we have access to You and are saved. We ask You to grant him wisdom liberally as he considers how and when to speak to this young woman. Give him clarity of words, gentleness, boldness and humility. Prepare her heart as well, and let this conversation happen only if it is in Your will and in Your timing. Guard both of their hearts from impurity and from anxiety, and let Your peace rule. If it is Your will for courtship and eventually marriage to grow from this, we pray You would make it clear and establish it on the foundation of faith in Christ. If not, we pray You would guard him from discouragement, help him to accept a no with grace, and use even disappointment to draw him closer to You. Above all we pray that both lives would bring glory to You and that Your will would be done. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We appreciate you sharing what is on your heart. Wanting to approach someone you respect, especially someone you see as close to God, takes courage, and it makes sense this has been on your mind a lot.

We hear both your hope and your humility in this. You admire her character and spiritual life, you want to be clear about how you feel, and you also want to honor God with how you do it, even knowing she may not feel the same way. That posture matters.

A simple next step that often helps is to keep it clear and kind and low pressure. Pray beforehand for calm and for grace to accept her answer well, and consider talking briefly with a trusted pastor or mature friend who knows you both for a quick wisdom check. Then when you do speak with her, choose a calm, private moment, use plain words about your interest and invite her to take time to think and respond honestly, without needing an answer on the spot.

Whatever her response, you will have acted with respect and integrity, and that is something you can have peace about.

Father, we lift this brother to You in Jesus' name. Give him peace as he waits, wisdom for his words and grace for whatever comes next. Help him to trust Your plan and to walk in kindness and clarity, and guide both him and this young woman as they seek You. Amen.

Your burden has been laid before the throne of grace and we have taken it to the Lord in prayer with you.

It is a good and seemly thing for a young man to seek wisdom before he speaks, and to desire a companion who loves the Lord and walks closely with Him. To esteem a spiritual mind and a nearness to God in another is a mark of right judgment, for the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the foundation of a home that would honor Christ.

You speak of a fear of rejection, and that fear is natural to the heart. Yet hear what the Scripture says, Fear not, for I am with you, and again, Fear not, for I will help you. There is a fear which the Christian is done with, the fear of the slave who dreads his taskmaster, and there is a filial fear, the reverent awe of a child toward his Father. When that holy fear of God rules the heart, the fear of man loses its power and brings strong confidence. He who has looked into the face of his God need not fear the face of man. Therefore labor to get rid of fear, for fear is weakening and dishonors God, while trust in promised strength makes the heart steady.

We have prayed for you through Jesus Christ our Lord, that the Lord would grant you wisdom from above, purity of motive, and a calm dependence upon His will. We have asked that if this conversation be for your good and for His glory, He would open the door and give you gracious words seasoned with humility and truth, and that you would speak not from mere impulse but from a desire to honor the Lord in all things. And if it be not His plan, we have asked that He would guard your heart from discouragement, keep you from being put to shame, and make you content to follow wherever He leads.

Go forward in the fear of the everlasting God. Seek first His kingdom, keep yourself in holiness as becomes those who would enter into the covenant of marriage, which is the lifelong union of one man and one woman, with all purity reserved within it. Commit your way unto the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass according to His perfect wisdom and love.

May the Lord make your path plain, give you courage without presumption, and let all be done as unto Christ, in whose name we pray.

Your honesty and desire to seek wisdom before acting is encouraging, and it is good that you want to bring this before the Lord. It is right that this is on your heart, and it is also right to ask God for clarity rather than being driven only by strong feeling.

We will pray for you, that God will give you courage to speak with boldness and without fear, and wisdom to speak well. Scripture teaches that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and true wisdom makes a person thoughtful, respectful, and sincere. Praying for a conversation is not only about getting the outcome you hope for, but about honoring God and honoring this young woman in how you approach her.

We will pray that the Lord gives you peace as you wait, that He helps you to speak clearly and kindly when the opportunity comes, and that He gives you grace to listen well and to receive her answer with maturity and respect, whether it is yes or no. If she shares your faith and closeness to God, that is a good foundation, but continue to seek to know her character and to let your intentions be open and pure, with marriage as the right and lifelong purpose for a relationship between a man and a woman, and with purity in how you treat one another.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to You and salvation. Thank You for the desires You place in our hearts and for Your perfect plan for our lives. We ask for wisdom for this young man as he considers speaking to this young woman. Give him a clear mind, a calm heart, and courage to speak honestly and respectfully. Guide his words so they are shaped by love and truth. Give her also clarity and peace as she listens and responds. Above all, let Your will be done, and help him to trust Your goodness whatever the answer may be. Keep them both close to You, growing in faith and virtue. We ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Continue to seek the Lord daily, to pray for His guidance, and to trust that He will lead your steps. Whether this door opens or not, God is faithful to guide those who seek Him with a sincere heart.
