Beloved of All
I had carpal tunnel surgery ### days after I for an infection more they likely due to the surgery I went to dr on Monday got antibiotics and just saw the surgeon today he prescribed me a different antibiotic because the ones I were on were making me real sick. He told me he want to see me on Monday if it looks no better I would have to go to hosp to get it cut open again. Now I wish I would have never got this surgery done. I’m so scared of sepsis I don’t want that I need prayers that these antibiotics will start working please pray for me. I usually request prayers for my wife please still pray for her to.

We have heard your request and we are lifting you up together before the throne of grace in Jesus name. We understand the fear and regret you are feeling after your carpal tunnel surgery and this infection that followed. It is frightening to face complications, new antibiotics that make you sick, and the possibility of having to return to the hospital to have the site opened again, and to worry about sepsis. We want you to know that God sees your suffering and He cares deeply for you and for your wife.

We want to gently remind you of something important we noticed in your request. You asked for prayers but you did not mention the name of Jesus. We want to share why we pray in His name, because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 And we are told There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 If you have not already done so, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name. That is the foundation of every prayer we bring to God.

We also want to speak to the fear that has taken hold of you. It is understandable to be afraid when your body is not healing as you hoped, but God does not want fear to rule your heart. For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7 And He says to you Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10 We rebuke that spirit of fear and regret in Jesus name and we ask God to replace it with His peace. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

We pray for your healing and we ask God to guide the hands of your doctors. We pray that this new antibiotic will be effective and that your body will tolerate it well, that the infection would be stopped and would not progress, and that you would be protected from sepsis and from any further invasive procedure. We trust that God is the healer, for it is written Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:2-3 And we cling to His promise For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Jeremiah 30:17 We also encourage you to continue to follow your surgeon’s instructions carefully, to keep your follow up appointment on Monday, and to seek immediate care if you notice worsening redness, swelling, fever, increasing pain, or any signs that the infection is spreading. God often works through the wisdom and treatment He has given to medical professionals.

We join together now in prayer for you and for your wife.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You together and we lift up our brother to You. You know his body, You know this hand and this wound, You know the infection and the fear in his heart. Lord we ask that You would touch this infection and cause it to retreat. Let these antibiotics work effectively, let them be well tolerated without sickness, and protect him from sepsis and from any further surgery. If it is Your will, let his surgeon see clear improvement on Monday. Grant him restful sleep, relief from pain and nausea, and strength for each day. Replace his fear and regret with Your perfect peace and remind him that You are with him and You will uphold him. We also lift up his wife to You as he has asked. You know her needs even though they were not detailed here, and we ask that You would cover her with Your love, health, and protection, and strengthen their marriage and home. We ask that both of them would draw near to Jesus and trust Him more deeply through this trial. We pray all of this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and healer, amen.

We will continue to keep you and your wife in our prayers. Please keep trusting the Lord and keep close to Him, and keep us updated as you are able.

We were sorry to read what you are going through. Having surgery to find relief and then facing an infection, a change in antibiotics that made you sick, and the possibility of going back to the hospital would leave anyone feeling scared and full of second thoughts. It makes sense you are worried about sepsis and wishing you had not had the surgery.

We are praying for you right now, and we will keep praying for your wife as you asked.

While you wait for Monday, we encourage you to stay closely connected to your medical team alongside prayer. Take the new antibiotics exactly as your surgeon directed, keep that Monday appointment, and if you notice worsening before then, call the surgeon's office or seek care right away instead of waiting. It can help to have your wife or another trusted person nearby to watch with you, and to write down any changes, questions, or instructions so you do not have to hold it all in your head when you are feeling unwell and anxious.

Father, we lift our brother to You. You see his pain, his fear, and his regret, and You know his body needs healing. We ask for Your mercy and calming presence over him, for wisdom for his surgeon and for the antibiotics to be effective, and for protection from further complications. Give him rest, reassurance, and clear next steps, and bless and keep his wife as well. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Your request has been laid before the Lord and before His people, and we join with you in earnest prayer in this time of pain and fear.

It is no small trial to have sought relief through the surgeon's hand and then to find a fresh affliction in its place, and to be told that the wound may need to be opened again. The very anxiety which arises through being in such a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty, and fear itself is weakening to both body and soul. Therefore hear the gracious word which is given to all who trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, Casting all your care upon Him for He cares for you. You need not carry this burden alone, nor tell it only to yourself where no good will come of it, but you may pour it out before Him who numbers your days and knows your frame.

We are commanded, Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God. It is not merely a preacher who says Fear not, but Jesus Himself who whispers it to His poor servant. To fear the infection more than to trust the Physician is to dishonor Him whose arm piled the heavens and sustains all things. Fear not, for He will help you. He who is the great conduit Head from which abundant streams of healing flow down to men below has not forgotten you in this sick room.

There is abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. The Scripture says the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, but even His leaves are full of healing virtue. The Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and when He comes to dwell with His people infirmity and dread are made to flee. We look to Him not only for the healing of the body, which He can give by His own hand or by the means of the physician, but for the healing of the soul, for pardon and healing are joined together in Christ.

Let us pray for you now.

O Lord our God, look in mercy upon this suffering one. You see the pain of the hand, the sickness caused by the medicine, and the fear of what may come. Lay Your hand upon this wound and rebuke the infection. Make the antibiotics effectual, give wisdom to the surgeon and to all who provide care, and grant that by Monday there may be clear improvement so that further cutting may not be needed. Keep this body from sepsis and from greater harm, and give peace to a troubled heart. Forgive all sin and let this soul know the healing that comes through pardon in the blood of Christ. And Lord, we remember also his wife before Your throne. You know her needs as You know his. Keep her, bless her, and draw you both nearer to Christ in this trial. Help you both to trust not in your own strength but in promised strength, and to labor to get rid of fear by resting upon Him who has redeemed you.

Cast yourself anew upon the Lord Jesus, trust His care, follow the counsel of those He has appointed to care for your body, and rest in this, that whether He heals by medicine or by miracle, He does all things well for those who are His.

Dealing with an infection on top of surgery recovery sounds awful, especially with the antibiotics knocking you around too. There's a short spoken prayer called the Infection Clearing Prayer on the One Prayer at a Time YouTube channel, prayed over the body clearing infection, and you only have to listen. I hope the new antibiotic turns things around.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
