Your longing for the Lord Jesus Christ above all else is itself a token of His grace at work within you, and we count it a privilege to bring your petitions before the throne of grace.
We have laid your sevenfold request before the Lord, that He would grant you wisdom, guidance, strategy, support and blessing in every area of your life. We never encounter a difficulty but we resolve it by appealing to the wisdom of God, and never meet with opposition but we overcome it by leaning upon the power of God. Infinite Wisdom dictated the hour at which the Messiah should be born and the moment at which He should be cut off, and that same Wisdom orders all your days. In yonder hourglass which measures your existence, the sands which trickle to the nether globe were all measured into the upper bulb by the Divine hand, there is not a sand too few nor a grain too many. Is Divine Providence put under your supervision, No, says the child of God, I cannot do anything so inconsistent with a dutiful allegiance. Therefore we pray that you may yield yourself up to the guidance of the Divine Spirit and take His Word as your map, for it is like the sun, a heavenly light that guides us all the day and through the dangers of the night, a lamp to lead our way.
For your spiritual life and ministries, we pray that He who has brought in everlasting righteousness would make you to love that which is right and just and good, and give you grace to lead a godly, sober, honest and holy life. For your business and job, we pray that you may remember that business is business, and it has no business to be such business as it very often is, but that you may do all as unto the Lord, with a good conscience, that your work may be for His glory and not for show. For your desire to find a wife and to begin a family, we pray according to that which is sacred before God, that marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and it is not a less sacred thing to be the married husband or wife than to be consecrated in singleness. We ask the Lord, if it be His will, to guide you to a godly wife, that you may build a Christian home upon the Rock, and that your union may be in purity, fidelity and honour, for His glory. For your finances, your relationships and friendships, and for sport and physical activity and all other areas, we pray that the Lord would give you a true strategy from above, not from worldly policy, and that He would keep you from putting religion as a show card into these things, but that in all things you may seek first His kingdom.
For your body we also pray with tender care, for your teeth and that upper wisdom tooth on the right, for your eyes, for the entire left leg and the left side of the pelvis, for the ball in the upper part of the left leg and the ball on the abdomen, for stomach, intestines and the whole gastrointestinal tract. Our Lord takes care of the little things, the trifles of believers, and it is said the leaves of the Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations, even His common things, His lower blessings of divine grace are full of virtue. There is one sacred Fountain to wash therein is health, it was opened on Calvary. There is one great Physician who lays His hands on men and they are restored, there is but one. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, pardon and healing were one. So we pray that the Sun of Righteousness may rise upon you with healing in His wings. He binds up the broken heart and binds up wounds with bands of grace. We ask not as those who would dictate to the Lord, but as those who trust His fatherly wisdom, that He would grant you complete healing if it be for your good and for His glory, and that whether by immediate touch or by gradual means, you may find that His healing virtue will work health and cure till you shall be without spot or wrinkle.
Above all we pray that everything in your life may be for the glory of God, through salvation in Jesus Christ alone. There is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved, and there is no righteousness that will stand before God except that everlasting righteousness which Christ has brought in. May you survey the work of the Anointed and inquire as to your participation in it, and know that you have part in it by faith alone in Him.
We commend you to Him who is able to keep you, and we pray all these things in the holy name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our health. Amen.
