Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You ask for wisdom, guidance, and strategy in every area of your life, but do you not know that the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God? Many are consumed by the cares of business, by the search for a wife, by the aching of the body, and they cry out as if the Lord did not see. But I tell you, the true perfection of the eyes is not that they are free from pain, but that they see clearly the light of Christ. For we do not call a lamp good because it is beautifully formed, but because it gives light. So with your teeth, your leg, and that lump on your thigh. Pray for healing, yes, but understand that involuntary suffering is not your enemy. There is a bite far fiercer than any toothache, and that is the sting of covetousness. When you ask for finances and business strategy, beware lest the teeth of penury be less grievous to you than the gnawing of earthly anxiety. The Lord did not promise us ease, but His presence.

You pray for a wife and seek to start a family. This is good, but with what eyes do you look? With the carnal eye that sees only outward beauty and the comfort of companionship, or with the spiritual eye that seeks a soul with whom you may glorify God and perfect what is lacking in your faith? The apostle Paul longed night and day to see the Thessalonians, praying exceedingly, not merely for natural affection, but that he might perfect their faith. So let even this desire be set aflame with that same fire. Seek first the kingdom, and let the Lord add what is good.

You plead for strategy, as if the road to life were a matter of human cleverness. But the Lord's words are spirit and life; the flesh profits nothing. Do not mistake me: I speak not of despising the body, but of the folly of receiving every promise in a carnal way, expecting only what the senses can grasp. The true hearing is spiritual, the true sight is faith. This is why Christ said to the blind men, "According to your faith be it unto you," confirming their souls before touching their eyes. So cry out continually, "Lord, have mercy," not only over your teeth and stomach, but over every dark corner of your heart. He knows your bodily afflictions. He who fed the multitudes and healed all manner of disease is not deaf. But what He desires first is to heal the unbelief that makes us perish.

I do not tell you these things to ignore your bodily pains for they are real but to lift your head above them. If you suffer now, do not imagine that God has abandoned you. Remember how some who heard the word ten times without fruit were later changed in a single hour. The root was being watered even when no fruit was seen. So persist in your prayers, and do not measure God's love by the speed of your healing. He announces great things beforehand to train our hearing, and the greatest announcement is the resurrection of the body. That hope makes every present affliction light.

Above all, let everything be for God's glory, as you yourself have said. If your business prospers, let not your heart swell. If your leg aches, let it teach you patience. If a spouse is given, let the union be a little church, not a temple of self-indulgence. And while you pray for your own health, do not forget those truly poor souls who beg with empty stomachs not because they are impostors, but because they share the common misery of Adam. Almsgiving is a healing balm for many wounds.

Therefore, I will not cease to pray with you and for you, but I leave you with this charge: Do not let the prayer for daily bread smother the hunger for the Bread of Life. Seek the Lord while He may be found, and then every needed strategy, every true wisdom, every lasting blessing will be added, for all things are yours in Christ, whether things present or things to come.

Your heart is crying out for the Lord Jesus Christ, and that is exactly where you need to be. You are asking for wisdom, guidance, strategy, and blessing in every area of your life, from your ministry and work to your future family, your finances, your relationships, and your physical body. These are not small requests. They flow from the deepest needs of a human soul, the kind of needs that rise up when a person truly realizes that everything depends on God. Job felt something similar when everything he had was stripped away. His possessions, his children, his health, even his sense of his own worth was taken from him. He sat in ashes, covered in sores, and he cried out from the very depths of his being. When you list your teeth, your eyes, your left leg, your pelvis, the lump in your thigh, the lump on your abdomen, and your stomach and intestines, you are naming the places where your body is groaning. Job knew that groan. He was full of tossing to and fro until the dawning of the day, longing for the night to end.

Friends sat with Job for seven days and seven nights without a word, because his grief was so great. Yet when they finally opened their mouths, they did not understand him, and they could not give him the answers he needed. They threw old proverbs at him. They implied he was hiding some secret sin. They called him a hypocrite. Job had to argue back and forth with them while his pain did not stop. You have asked for prayer that everything would be for the glory of God, and that is the very thing that sets a believer apart from that kind of counsel. Job’s friends thought the triumphing of the wicked is short and the joy of the hypocrite is for a moment, and they tried to squeeze Job into that mold. But Job refused to curse God. He blessed the name of the Lord even when he did not understand what was happening to him.

What Job did not know was that a controversy had taken place in heaven. God had placed a hedge around him, around his house, and around everything he had. Satan was allowed to test that hedge, but only as far as God permitted. Job could not see that. He only felt the fire, the loss, the infection, the weight of a body that would not heal. You are feeling that weight right now. You need the Lord’s support in your business and your job. You want to find a wife and start a family. You want your friendships and your physical activities to thrive. These are good desires. But they leave you vulnerable and exposed when they seem out of reach. Job spoke of life being short, like a flower that blooms for a couple of weeks and then vanishes, like a shadow, like a vapor. He wanted a daysman, a mediator who could lay his hand on both God and man and bring them together. He wanted someone to stand in the gap.

That daysman has come. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have beheld His glory, full of grace and truth. Jesus is the answer to every one of Job’s cries. In the New Testament, through Christ, God has met every basic need of the human heart. Where Job asked, “What is man that God should magnify him and crown him with honor?” Jesus has shown that God indeed crowns the broken with glory by taking the brokenness upon Himself. So when you ask for your teeth and your eyes and your leg and your stomach to be healed, you are not casting a wish into the dark. You are asking the One whose hand holds the breath of every living thing. You are asking the One who sees all your steps. You are asking the One before whom wisdom is not gold or crystal or pearls or topaz, but the fear of the Lord and the departing from evil.

Do not take your bodily misery or your waiting as a sign that God has withdrawn His favor. Job’s name became a byword for patience, not because he never grew confused or never wished he had been stillborn, but because his faith held on when his circumstances screamed otherwise. Your desire that everything be for God’s glory is a mark of that same faith. The Spirit is teaching you to trust a righteousness that is not your own. We are not clean in ourselves; we all have sinned and fall short. But God accounts faith for righteousness, just as He did with Abraham, and just as He did with those who believed before the cross cast its long shadow backward through history. When you lie down and wonder when the morning will come, you are not alone. The Lord knows your tossing.

I am praying with you for the complete and final healing of every part of your body in the name of Jesus Christ. I am praying for wisdom and strategy for your work and your finances. I am praying for the right wife, a woman who fears the Lord, and for a family that serves Him. I am praying for friendships that strengthen your soul and for strength for your physical activity. But above all, I am praying that you will find Jesus to be the treasure that holds you steady when these requests linger. He has endured the rod that terrified Job. He has taken away the fear of condemnation. He is not hiding His face from you. He who did not spare His own Son will freely give you all things. Stand in that confidence, and may the peace of God which passes understanding guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
