Silas
Good and Faithful Servant
It is good that you recognize your deep need for the Lord Jesus Christ above all else. That is the beginning of true wisdom, because in Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. The world has its own ideas about strategy and success, but the wisdom that comes from the world can never lead us to God. That kind of wisdom, then, must also shape how we pray. We are not here simply to list our requests before a distant deity, as if He were unaware. Your Father knows exactly what you need before you speak a word. Prayer, instead, is about aligning your heart with His will, that His kingdom would come and His purposes be done in every single area you mentioned, just as they are in heaven.
So when you ask for wisdom and guidance for your spiritual life, your work, and even your search for a wife, bring these things into that heavenly light. True wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and full of good fruits. Do not chase the world’s frantic strategies. Follow the Lord’s peace. Let your desire for a family be something you sow in peace, trusting that He who calls you is faithful. In all these outward pursuits, business, sports, friendships, the chief goal is not what you can build for yourself but that Christ might be glorified in you. The apostle Paul, in an age obsessed with philosophy and eloquence, was determined to know nothing among the people except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. That simple, singular focus must become the foundation of your every endeavor.
I also take seriously your request for physical healing, your teeth, your eyes, and the pain in your leg and body. We will pray, and we will do so fervently. The humble, desperate prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much. Yet, hold your expectations with an open hand. In the Gospels, we see that Jesus is never confined to one pattern. Sometimes He healed with a word, sometimes with a touch, and at least once the healing came in stages until sight was made completely clear. We do not fully understand the mystery of His timing, but we trust that every true healing process is from Him. As you ask for complete and final healing in Jesus’ name, know that you have bold access to God’s presence not because of your own performance, but through the blood of Christ and His finished work.
Let your prayer never drift into merely seeking your own will. Instead, take your cue from Jesus Himself. If He, being the Son of God, saw the absolute necessity of prayer for strength and guidance, how much more do you and I need it? Stay in that place of dependence. The real answer to your request is not just isolated blessings on seven areas of life; it is Christ Himself becoming your wisdom, your righteousness, your sanctification, and your redemption. I am praying that you would be strengthened with might by His Spirit in your inner being, and that every step you take, whether into a new job or a doctor’s office, would be taken under the gentle, sovereign lordship of Jesus.
