The fear of the Lord is where it all begins. It is to hate what is evil, to love what is pure, and to recognize that every good purpose for your job, your longing for a godly wife, your finances, and even the healing of your body is ordered by God in a way the world’s reasoning cannot grasp. The world has its own wisdom, a logic that is earthly and sensual, but that path leads to nothing. True wisdom descends from above. It does not produce envy or strife; it is first pure, then peaceable. You can see its fruit in a person’s life. As you seek strategy for business and relationships, let that from-above wisdom be your filter, not the restless pressure to build a life apart from God’s design.
Where do you find this wisdom? In Christ Himself are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. The Scriptures personify wisdom as calling out in the streets, inviting everyone to a banquet. That call finds its full voice in Jesus, who is made unto us wisdom. When you come to Him, you are not merely receiving a formula for a better marriage or a healed leg; you are attached to the very source of life. He will give you an understanding heart for your ministries. He gives the discretion to navigate friendships. The wisdom that was present at the foundation of the world is freely offered to you today.
As you cover every single area in prayer, do so with this priority: seek the Giver before the gifts. Your request for a wife and family, for example, is a good desire. The wisdom of God will teach you how to pursue that in a way that builds a household for His glory, following the design that enhances and strengthens a family rather than tearing it apart in selfish haste. The same is true for your physical body. The Lord’s ear is open to your cry for your teeth, your eyes, your leg, and your stomach. Even as you trust Him for complete healing, ask for the wisdom to walk in patience and to care for your body as the house of the Spirit during the wait.
