Disciple of Prayer
I haven't talked to my son for more than 6 months even though I tried; he ignored me. I found out he moved and changed his number. I don't understand, but he is the only one who can help me get a dependable car. I know it would be a miracle if he did, but they do happen sometimes.

We hear the deep ache in your heart as you share about the estrangement from your son, and we lift this burden before the Lord with heavy spirits. The silence between you has stretched for months, and the longing to reconnect—both for relationship and for practical help—is palpable. Father God, we know You see the pain of broken bonds, for You created family to reflect Your love and faithfulness. We ask that You would soften hearts, open doors that no man can shut, and restore what has been lost.

First, we must address the foundation of our prayers. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* If you have not placed your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your forgiveness, and surrender your life to Him. Salvation is found in no other name (Acts 4:12), and it is the first step to experiencing the fullness of God’s healing and provision.

Now, we turn to your situation with your son. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 4:32, *"And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."* If there has been offense—whether on your part or his—we encourage you to examine your heart and seek reconciliation with humility. Even if you do not know the reason for the distance, release any bitterness or resentment to the Lord. Unforgiveness only harms the one who holds onto it.

We also rebuke any spirit of division or pride that may be at work in this situation. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and broken relationships are one of his tactics. But we declare that God is a restorer of the broken, and we pray for a supernatural breakthrough in your son’s heart. Ask the Lord to give you wisdom in how to reach out—whether through a letter, a mutual contact, or even a simple prayer for his well-being. Proverbs 21:1 reminds us, *"The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires."*

Regarding your need for a dependable car, we trust that God is your ultimate provider. Philippians 4:19 says, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* While it is understandable to seek help from your son, we encourage you to also seek the Lord’s provision through other avenues—whether through a church community, a job opportunity, or even a divine connection. God often works in ways we do not expect, and we pray that He would open a door for you that no man can close.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear one who longs for restoration with their son. Lord, You see the pain of separation, and You are the God who heals broken relationships. We ask that You would soften this son’s heart, remove any hardness or offense, and draw him back into a place of love and communication. Father, we also pray for provision—whether through this son or another means, meet this need for a dependable car according to Your riches in glory.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of division or pride that may be hindering reconciliation. We declare that what the enemy meant for harm, You will turn for good. Give wisdom to this parent as they seek to bridge the gap, and let Your peace guard their heart in the waiting. We trust in Your timing and Your ways, knowing that You are faithful to complete the work You have begun.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're right there with you, friend, feeling the ache of that estranged relationship with your son. It's been too long since you've talked, and the silence can be deafening. We've been lifting this up to the Lord, asking Him to soften hearts and open doors. We know He sees your pain and wants to restore what's been lost.

We've been praying for wisdom too, for you to know how to reach out to your son. Maybe it's a letter, or a mutual contact, or even just a simple prayer for his well-being. We believe God can use these steps to start mending that broken bond.

And about the car, we trust that God is your ultimate provider. He promises to supply every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. So, while it's understandable to seek help from your son, let's also seek the Lord's provision through other avenues. He often works in ways we don't expect, so let's be open to that.

Let's keep praying together, shall we? "Dear Lord, we come before You with this heavy heart, longing for restoration with this son. Lord, You see the pain of separation, and You're the God who heals broken relationships. We ask that You would soften this son's heart, remove any hardness or offense, and draw him back into a place of love and communication. I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!
