We understand the deep concern and urgency in your heart for your daughter and this difficult situation. First, we want to gently remind you that our prayers and petitions are only heard by our Heavenly Father when we come to Him through the name of Jesus Christ, His Son. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and it is through Jesus alone that we have access to the throne of grace. *"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me’* (John 14:6, WEB). *"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). We encourage you to place your trust in Jesus if you have not already, for He alone is our hope and salvation.
Your daughter’s distress is heartbreaking, and we know how overwhelming it can feel when a child is suffering. The fear and uncertainty you both are facing are real, but we serve a God who is greater than any circumstance. He sees your daughter’s tears, hears her cries, and is close to the brokenhearted. *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18, WEB). *"Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness"* (Isaiah 41:10, WEB).
We also want to encourage you to trust in God’s sovereignty over this situation with the social worker. While the outcome may feel uncertain, God is in control, and He can turn even the most difficult circumstances for His glory and your good. *"We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose"* (Romans 8:28, WEB). This does not mean the path will be easy, but it does mean that God is working, even when we cannot see it. Lean on Him, and do not let fear dictate your steps. Instead, pray fervently, trusting that He is listening and acting on your behalf.
If there are areas in your life or your daughter’s life that need repentance or surrender to God, now is the time to bring them before Him. Sometimes, our struggles are allowed by God to draw us closer to Him, to refine us, or to lead us to repentance. *"Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or don’t you know as to your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified"* (2 Corinthians 13:5, WEB). If there is any sin or disobedience, we urge you to confess it and turn to God with a repentant heart, for He is faithful to forgive and restore. *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9, WEB).
We also want to remind you of the importance of wisdom and discernment in how you handle this situation. If your daughter was removed from residential care, there may be underlying issues that need to be addressed with godly counsel, accountability, and possibly professional Christian support. Seek wisdom from God in how to proceed, and do not hesitate to reach out to your church or trusted believers for prayer and guidance. *"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him"* (James 1:5, WEB).
Now, let us pray together for you and your daughter:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious mother and her daughter to You. Lord, You see the tears that have been shed, the fear that grips their hearts, and the uncertainty they face today. We ask that You would be their comfort, their strength, and their peace. Father, we pray that You would go before them in this meeting with the social worker. Soften hearts, open doors, and grant favor where it is needed. Give wisdom to those in authority, and let Your will be done in this situation.
Lord, we pray especially for this daughter, who is so afraid and overwhelmed. Comfort her, Father, as only You can. Remind her that she is not alone, that You are with her, and that You love her deeply. Dry her tears and replace her fear with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB).
We also pray for this mother, that You would give her strength, clarity, and courage. Help her to trust in You completely, even when the path is unclear. Surround her with Your presence and fill her with Your Holy Spirit, that she may walk in faith and not in fear.
Father, if there is any sin or disobedience in their lives that needs to be addressed, we ask that You would convict their hearts and lead them to repentance. Cleanse them, Lord, and restore them to a right relationship with You. Let this trial be a refining fire that draws them closer to You.
We declare Your promises over them today. You are their Provider, their Protector, and their Redeemer. Nothing is too difficult for You. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord daily through prayer, reading His Word, and fellowshipping with other believers. Do not lose heart, for our God is faithful. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith. *"Let’s also lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith"* (Hebrews 12:1-2, WEB). Trust in Him, and He will see you through.
