The human heart is the source of all sin, and only God’s grace can cleanse and renew it.

Every listener must guard their words and actions to protect the moral and spiritual welfare of children.
We rejoice with you in this holy calling to preach the Word of God and we stand with you in prayer for this upcoming ministry in the local church. It is a sacred trust to be entrusted with the Word, and we thank God for your desire to prepare diligently and to seek His anointing, wisdom and boldness rather than leaning on your own strength.

We are encouraged by your heart to be maximally effective for God's goals and to glorify the Father, and we want to encourage you to continue to seek faithfulness above all. Scripture reminds us to preach the word, be urgent in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with all patience and teaching, 2 Tim 4:2. We are also called to be diligent to present ourselves approved by God, a workman who does not need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of truth, 2 Tim 2:15. This means your preparation in writing a sermon plan, organizing your thoughts, finding examples and illustrations, and bathing it all in prayer is itself an act of worship and obedience. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him, James 1:5, and we trust He will supply what you need as you ask. We also remember that our sufficiency is not of ourselves but of God, and that when we speak we should do so as one speaking the oracles of God, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, 1 Pet 4:11, and that our speech and our preaching should not be in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 1 Cor 2:4.

We join our faith with yours and pray together.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the mighty Name and Blood of Jesus Christ, and we lift up our brother before You as he prepares to minister Your Word. We ask You to anoint him afresh with Your Holy Spirit, to grant him deep wisdom from above and holy boldness to speak Your truth without fear or compromise. Guide him as he writes his sermon plan, help him to organize his thoughts with clarity, to choose illustrations and examples that will make Your truth plain, and to rightly divide Your Word. Put Your words in his mouth as You promised, Jer 1:9, and clothe every word he speaks with the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit, so that it will not return void but will accomplish that which You please, Isa 55:11. We pray for utterance to be given to him, that he may open his mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the Good News, Eph 6:19, and we ask You to grant to Your servant to speak Your word with all boldness, Acts 4:29. Prepare also the hearts of those who will hear, give them ears to hear and hearts to receive and obey, and let all that is done bring joy to Your heart and glory to Your Name. Let this ministry bear lasting fruit for Your kingdom and strengthen Your church. We ask all this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

We encourage you to continue in much prayer and in the study of the Scriptures, to keep your own walk close to the Lord, and to trust not in eloquence but in the Spirit who empowers the preaching of the cross. The Lord who called you will equip you, and we trust He will be glorified through your obedience.

Father, humbly ask for Your power to intervene. Please meet deepest spiritual, physical, emotional, financial needs according to Your Will and timing in Jesus Name Amen
"May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace." Numbers 6:24-26

We are grateful you reached out and let us stand with you as you prepare to preach. It is a weighty and joyful calling to open God's Word for a congregation, and your desire to do it faithfully and to make your Father glad is beautiful to see.

We are praying with you for clear thought as you shape the sermon plan, for fitting examples and illustrations to come to mind, and for wisdom to organize it all so it serves the hearers well. We are also asking God for boldness and a quiet dependence on the Holy Spirit when you stand to speak, that every word would be clothed with His help and that God's purposes would be accomplished through it.

One thing that often helps in these final days of preparation is to give each part its own space. Set focused time for study and outlining, separate time for illustrations, and then time to step away, pray over what you have written, and even speak it aloud once. That rhythm can keep the work from feeling tangled and leave room for the Spirit to steady you.

Father, we lift this brother to You. Give him clarity in study, peace in preparation, and strength and anointing as he preaches. Guide his words so they honor You and build up Your people. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

There is much cause for thanksgiving in your request, for the desire to preach the Word of God faithfully and to seek the Lord's help beforehand is itself a token of His grace at work in you.

You feel your weakness as you look upon this task of writing a sermon plan, gathering examples and illustrations, and organizing your thoughts, and this is not strange. Weakness and divine anointing may stand together. Every believer washed in the blood of Christ is anointed by grace, and yet he may still groan and say, I am weak. The wisdom of man is rather an impediment than an assistant to the purpose of God, and we are not to sit down and say we are qualified because we have such and such gifts. If God has called you to this ministry in that local church, He will not leave His own anointing without effect. He who has purposed the work will carry it on.

Therefore let us come boldly unto the throne of grace, for we have a reason for boldness. We are invited to pray, and our God is infinite in wisdom and unlimited in power, able to give us whatever is best for us in the best possible way. We cannot exceed His willingness to help us, let our requests be as large as they may.

Let us pray together for you.

Heavenly Father, we come in the name and blood of Jesus Christ Thy Son, and ask Thy help for Thy servant as he prepares to preach Thy Word. Grant him clearness of mind to arrange his thoughts, wisdom to divide Thy truth rightly, and grace to choose fit illustrations that shall make the gospel plain. We pray that Thou wilt give him a very strong anointing of the Holy Spirit, with wisdom and with holy boldness, so that this sermon may be maximally effective for the accomplishing of Thine own purposes and not his own. When he stands to speak, do Thou inspire him and clothe every word with the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit, that all Thy will may be done. Help him to fulfil this ministry in such a way as to make Thine heart glad and to glorify Thy name, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let the preparation of the heart and the answer of the tongue be both from Thee, and let the fruit be to Thine eternal praise. Amen.

Go forward in dependence upon the Lord, giving diligent care to preparation, yet trusting not in preparation but in the living Spirit. He will yet work in you that gracious fitness which shall make your labour acceptable, and He will set His seal to the word spoken in His name.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
