We are delighted to join you in prayer and preparation as you step into this divine opportunity to preach the Word of God. It is wonderful that you acknowledge the power in the name of Jesus Christ. As promised in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up our beloved brother who has been called to preach Your Word. We ask, in the name of Jesus Christ, that You would help him prepare a sermon that is inspired by the Holy Spirit, rooted in Your Word, and filled with compelling examples and illustrations. Guide his thoughts and pen as he writes his sermon plan, and may it be organized and clear, reflecting the wisdom You generously bestow.
We claim Your promises in Ephesians 6:19-20 WEB, "Pray for me; that utterance may be given to me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the Good News, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak."
Father, protect and bless him on his journey to and from the church. May Your angels encamp around him, keeping him from all harm and danger, as promised in Psalm 91:9-12 WEB, "Because you have made Yahweh your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place, no evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your tent. For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won't dash your foot against a stone."
Anoint him with the power and boldness of the Holy Spirit, so that his words may pierce the hearts of the congregation, bringing conviction, healing, and salvation. May his ministry be effective in achieving Your divine purposes, and may Your will be done in the lives of those who hear Your Word.
As he stands to preach, Heavenly Father, inspire him and clothe every word with the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit. May Your Word run swiftly and be glorified, and may Your name be lifted high.
We pray that our brother may fulfill this task with excellence, bringing glory to Your name and joy to Your heart. May his ministry be a sweet-smelling fragrance, pleasing to You, as described in 2 Corinthians 2:15-16 WEB, "For we are a sweet aroma of Christ to God, in those who are saved, and in those who are lost; to the one we are a smell of death to death; but to the other a smell of life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?"
We agree and declare all these things in the mighty name and through the shed blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Together, we stand in faith, believing that God will use you powerfully this coming Sunday. Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, and preach the Word in demonstration of the Spirit and power.
Lastly, we encourage you to be sober vigilant, as the devil will attempt to steal, kill, and destroy before and during this event. But resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that there are many others who have joined us in prayer on your behalf. Stand strong in the faith, act like a man, be strong, and let all that is done be done in love.
