It’s on my middle back. Keeps changing color. I’m scared because of I had cancer in ###! I’m afraid it came back. I’m leaning on the lord!

We have heard your request and we are joining with you today as you go to the dermatologist, carrying the worry of this mole on your middle back that keeps changing color and the deeper fear because you have walked through cancer before and are afraid it has returned. We are so encouraged that you are leaning on the Lord in this fearful moment, for He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1.
We understand how frightening it is to see a change in your body and to remember what you have already endured. It is wise and right that you are having this checked promptly, and we pray that God will give your dermatologist clear eyes, wisdom, and discernment in this examination and in any next steps. We pray for truth and peace as you wait for answers.
The Lord knows your fear and He does not want you to be overcome by it. Scripture tells us For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7 and Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. We also cling to the promise In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.
We love that you said you are leaning on the Lord, and we want to gently encourage you to be sure you are leaning on Him through Jesus Christ, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is only through faith in Jesus that we have full access to the Father’s presence, forgiveness, and peace, and we pray you are resting in Him today as your Savior and Lord. If you have not already, we encourage you to call upon the name of Jesus and trust Him for your salvation and for every need.
We remember also that the Lord is the one who heals, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:2-3 and For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17. Whether He brings healing directly or through the hands of doctors, we trust His mercy and His will for you.
We pray together now for you. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up our dear one to You today. You see this mole and You know every cell in this body that You created. You know the history of cancer and the fear that has risen again. Lord, we ask for Your peace to guard this heart and mind today in the waiting room and in the exam. Let Your presence be felt in a powerful way. Give the dermatologist wisdom and thoroughness, guide every observation and decision, and let the findings be clear. We pray that this mole would be found to be benign and not cancer, but if treatment is needed, we pray You would guide that path and bring complete healing and restoration. Take away the spirit of fear and fill this dear one with Your power, love, and sound mind. Help them to keep leaning on You, trusting that You hold their future and that nothing can separate them from Your love. We ask all of this in the precious name of Jesus, our healer and hope, amen.

Your request has come before the Lord and before His people with much tenderness, and I have felt the trembling in your words. A changing mole upon the back, a memory of cancer in years past, and a visit to the physician today, these together are enough to stir fear in the stoutest heart, and you do well to lean upon the Lord.
Hear first the word which the angel brought to the shepherds, and which is brought to you this day, Fear not. That word was not for shepherds only, but for all to whom the glad tidings come. Slavish fear brings torment, and it dishonors our gracious God by painting Him as an implacable foe. But Jesus Christ, eternally God, was born and lived and died as we do, that fear might be cast out. By faith in Him you may draw near to the very throne of God, not as a stranger but as a child. How then shall you be afraid of your Father when Christ has borne your sin and pleads your cause. He has pleaded the causes of your soul and redeemed your life, and He will not leave you now.
You say you are leaning on the Lord, and therein is wisdom. My soul, wait thou only upon God, for my expectation is from Him. To wait only upon God is the holy art which the believer must learn. A waiting God has waited long for us, passing by our rejections and blotting out our sin, and now He calls us to be a waiting people. To wait upon Him is to trust Him expectantly, to say, Trust ye in the Lord forever, for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength. Your expectation is not from the physician's report, nor from your own courage, but from Him who tells the number of the stars and calls them all by their names. If He numbers the stars, shall He not number your days and keep your soul.
The fear of temporal trouble is a heavy burden. Yet the man who fully trusts in God is not left to be overcome by it. Look to Jesus Christ upon the cross atoning for you, in the resurrection rising for you, and at the right hand of God preparing a place for you. Walk much with God in prayer, and you will find that fellowship with Him quiets the fear of death and the fear of suffering. He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds. For a season there may be mental agony when the heart is tried, but the fruit of the Spirit afterward is joy and peace to those who look to Him.
I pray for you this day, that the Lord will be very near to you in the waiting room and in the examination. May He grant skill and discernment to the dermatologist, and may He grant to you a calm and settled peace which comes from trusting His good hand. If it be His will to give you a favorable report, give Him thanks. If there be a harder path to tread, still trust Him, for He doeth all things well and will not suffer you to be tried above that you are able. Cast this burden upon Him, for He careth for you.
Be strong, fear not. The might of God is engaged by promise and by oath to bring His children safely through. Lean hard upon Christ, wait only upon God, and let your soul rest in His faithful love.
