I have so many enemies, people are ungrateful to what I do

We understand the weight of your heart as you carry the burden of feeling unappreciated and surrounded by enemies. It is painful when kindness is met with ingratitude, and love is repaid with hostility. Yet we are reminded in Scripture that such trials are not uncommon for those who walk in faithfulness. Jesus Himself warned us, *"If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you aren’t of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you"* (John 15:18-19, WEB). Even David, a man after God’s own heart, cried out in Psalm 38:19-20, *"But my enemies are vigorous and many. They hate me without reason. They also reward me evil for good, and hatred for my love."* You are not alone in this struggle, and your pain is seen by the Lord.

However, we must also examine our own hearts in these moments. Are we seeking the approval of man, or are we serving the Lord with pure motives? Jesus tells us, *"But when you do merciful deeds, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does, so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly"* (Matthew 6:3-4, WEB). Our reward does not come from the gratitude of others but from the Lord Himself, who sees all and judges righteously. If your acts of kindness are done with the expectation of praise or repayment from people, you may find yourself continually disappointed. But if they are done unto the Lord, even the ingratitude of others cannot steal your joy, for your treasure is stored in heaven where no enemy can reach it.

As for those who oppose you, Jesus commands us to respond in a way that defies worldly logic: *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven"* (Matthew 5:44-45, WEB). This is not a suggestion but a directive from our Savior. When we bless our enemies, we heap burning coals upon their heads (Romans 12:20), not out of vengeance, but to lead them to repentance. Your response to their hatred can be a testimony of Christ’s love in you, and it may very well be the tool God uses to soften their hearts.

Now, let us address the latter part of your request: *"Fill me with blessings."* True blessing is not found in material wealth, ease, or the admiration of others, but in the presence and favor of God. Jesus said, *"Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you"* (Matthew 5:11-12, WEB). If you are suffering for righteousness’ sake, you are already blessed beyond measure, for your reward is eternal. The Apostle Paul reminds us that *"all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose"* (Romans 8:28, WEB). Even the trials you face are being used by God to shape you into the image of Christ and to prepare you for the blessings He has in store.

That said, we must also ask: are you seeking blessings for your own comfort, or are you seeking the blessings of God so that you may be a blessing to others? Abraham was blessed not for his own sake, but so that *"in you all the families of the earth will be blessed"* (Genesis 12:3, WEB). God’s blessings are not meant to be hoarded but to flow through us to a broken world. If you desire blessings, ask the Lord to fill you so that you may pour out His love, grace, and truth to those around you—even to those who have treated you poorly.

Lastly, we notice that your request does not invoke the name of Jesus. This is not a small matter, for Scripture is clear: *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is only in His name that our prayers are heard. Jesus Himself said, *"No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so now. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Without Christ, there is no true blessing, no eternal hope, and no access to the Father. But in Him, you have everything.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this beloved soul before You, knowing that You are the God who sees every tear, hears every cry, and collects every prayer in a bottle (Psalm 56:8). Lord, we ask that You would surround them with Your presence and fill them with the peace that surpasses all understanding. Comfort them in their distress and remind them that their worth is not found in the gratitude of others but in the price You paid for them on the cross.

Father, we pray for those who have treated them with ingratitude and hostility. Soften their hearts, Lord, and open their eyes to the love and kindness that has been shown to them. Convict them of their sin and lead them to repentance. May our brother/sister respond to their enemies with the love of Christ, blessing those who curse them and doing good to those who hate them. Give them the strength to forgive as You have forgiven them, and the wisdom to know how to set godly boundaries where necessary.

Lord, we ask that You would indeed fill them with blessings—not the fleeting blessings of this world, but the eternal blessings of Your presence, Your joy, and Your peace. May they be so overwhelmed by Your goodness that it overflows to those around them, drawing others to You. If there is any area of their life where they have sought blessings for selfish gain, convict them and purify their motives. Teach them to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all things will be added to them in Your perfect timing (Matthew 6:33).

Father, if this one does not yet know You as their Savior, we pray that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way. Draw them to Christ, Lord, and let them see their need for Him. Open their eyes to the truth that salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

We rebuke every spirit of bitterness, resentment, and self-pity that may try to take root in their heart. Fill them instead with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Let them rise above their circumstances by the power of Your might, standing firm in the armor You have provided (Ephesians 6:10-18).

We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We're here with you, dear friend. It's tough feeling unappreciated and surrounded by enemies, but remember, Jesus promised us in this world we would have trouble (John 16:33). Even so, we're called to love and bless others, just as He loved and blessed us. Let's trust that God sees your efforts and will reward you openly (Matthew 6:4). Keep seeking His will, and let's pray together for His peace and comfort to fill your heart. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!
