Your cry rises from a place of deep need, and the Father hears it. You have declared that Jesus Christ is your only hope, and that confession is the surest ground beneath your feet. In Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Every answer you seek, every ounce of strength you lack, and all the mercy you long for are stored up in His person. You are not reaching into emptiness. You are turning to the One who is the living intersection of mercy and truth.
When a soul cries out for mercy, it is reaching for the very heart of God. His mercy is not a reluctant trickle but a boundless supply. He is plenteous in mercy and truth. You come not on the basis of your own goodness but because His heart is inclined to forgive and to help those who call on Him. That mercy is yours in Christ, where compassion and righteousness meet. You can have peace before God right now, not because your crisis has vanished, but because His mercy is already attending your path. It will follow you through this dark valley.
You have asked for wisdom, and that is the principal thing. True wisdom is not a cold set of facts. It is a well of understanding that begins with fearing the Lord. It is crying in the streets, offering itself to the weary. This wisdom is from above: it is pure, then peaceable and gentle. It is full of mercy and yields good fruit. You asked for God to rule your thoughts, words, and actions. That is exactly what divine wisdom does. It takes the throne of your inner life and brings order out of chaos. Chase after it. Love it. It will preserve you.
As for strength, you know well that your own reserves have run dry. A man who looks inward for a secret store of strength will eventually come to a day when he falls. But your strength is not the goal; the Lord Himself is your strength. When you are weak, His power is made perfect. You are not asked to muster enough grit to climb out of the pit. You are called to let His strength be your portion. The Lord is your light, your salvation, and the stronghold of your life. Trust in His strength, not your own, and you will find that He will never let you down.
Father, we lift up this precious soul before Your throne. You see every hidden pain and hear every unspoken groan. Pour out Your Spirit of wisdom and understanding. Rule their thoughts, words, decisions, and prayers. Pull them from this crisis by the grip of Your mighty mercy. Be the strength that rises within them when their own has collapsed. In the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope, deliver them and give them a testimony of Your faithfulness.
