i had enough with these attacks

Your prayer shows how weary and worn down you have become, and how deeply you long to be free and to walk in the constant strength of God. That longing itself is from the Lord, and He hears you when you call on Him in the name of Jesus.

The Scriptures teach that when you truly receive Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit comes to live within you. You become His temple. That indwelling is given to every believer. It is the Spirit who first drew you to Christ and who now works within you to make you more like Him. Yet there is also a further work that God desires for His children, an empowering where the Spirit comes upon you to give you strength to stand against temptation and to live as a witness for Christ. Jesus said you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. This is not just an inner presence but an outward filling and anointing for daily victory and service.

Jesus Himself, though He is the Son of God, lived His earthly ministry full of the Spirit, led by the Spirit, and returning in the power of the Spirit. If He depended on the power and anointing of the Spirit to overcome and to minister, how much more do we need that same filling and leading every day. We cannot in our own strength forgive as we should, love as we should, or stand against the pressures of the flesh and the schemes of the enemy. We need the Spirit to transform us and to give us power where we have no power of our own.

The enemy is real, and his desire is to distort and torment. It is easy to become so focused on his power to harass that faith begins to weaken. But Scripture reminds us that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. Through Jesus Christ you have been given authority over every power of darkness. The torment you feel is not a sign that Christ has abandoned you or that the devil owns you. You said you signed for Christ, not for the devil, and that is true. If you belong to Jesus, you belong to Him completely.

You mentioned doors you opened without understanding. God calls us to bring those things into the light before Him, to confess them, to turn from them, and to renounce them in the name of Jesus. By the Spirit you can put to death the deeds of the flesh. That is not something you do alone by willpower, but something you do by dependence on the Spirit who dwells in you. Ask the Father to fill you afresh, to lead you, and to empower you. Paul writes that as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God, and he urges us to be continually filled with the Spirit. This is a daily, ongoing relationship, not a one time event.

Please do not measure God's love or His work in you by comparing your journey to others who seemed to be set free more quickly. God works in each life according to His wisdom, and freedom often involves a process of being conformed to the image of Christ as the Spirit teaches you to walk in new ways. The length of the struggle does not mean He has forgotten you or that you must suffer forever. Once the Holy Spirit was given, God did not tell His people to wait in uncertainty. The gift is available to you now as you open your heart to Him in faith.

So keep turning to Jesus, not to your own strength. Spend time in His Word, pray in honesty, ask to be filled and led by the Spirit today, and walk in obedience to what He shows you. When attacks come, speak the truth of who you are in Christ and resist the enemy in Jesus name, trusting the power of the Spirit within you rather than your own feelings.

I pray for you now. Father, thank You for the power of Your Holy Spirit that You have made available to Your children. I ask that You fill this dear one anew, that You lead and empower and guard. Break every hold that has been given to darkness, forgive and cleanse every door that was opened, and teach how to walk by the Spirit and to live in victory. Let there be a greater work of Your Spirit in heart and life, bringing peace where there has been torment, and strength where there has been weariness. Transform by Your Spirit and make victorious in those places where the flesh has had control. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
