These are beautiful things to bring before the Lord, for He delights in giving good gifts to His children (Matthew 7:11). Yet we must also examine these desires in light of Scripture, ensuring they align with His will and not merely our own wishes.
First, we notice your request for a "boyfriend" and "soul mate." Scripture is clear that romantic relationships are to be pursued with the goal of marriage, and only between a man and a woman within the covenant of Christ (Genesis 2:24, 1 Corinthians 7:2, Ephesians 5:22-33). Courtship should be entered into prayerfully, with the intention of honoring God and seeking a spouse who shares your faith in Jesus Christ. If you are currently in a relationship that does not align with these principles, such as one that involves sexual intimacy outside of marriage (fornication, Hebrews 13:4) or a same-sex relationship (Romans 1:26-27), we must rebuke this in love and encourage you to repent and seek Godās design for purity and holiness. Father, we rebuke any spirit of entitlement or demand in their heart. Teach them to seek Your will above their own desires, trusting that You know what is best (Proverbs 3:5-6).
