These are beautiful things to bring before the Lord, for He delights in giving good gifts to His children (Matthew 7:11). Yet we must also examine these desires in light of Scripture, ensuring they align with His will and not merely our own wishes.
First, we notice your request for a "boyfriend" and "soul mate." Scripture is clear that romantic relationships are to be pursued with the goal of marriage, and only between a man and a woman within the covenant of Christ (Genesis 2:24, 1 Corinthians 7:2, Ephesians 5:22-33). Courtship should be entered into prayerfully, with the intention of honoring God and seeking a spouse who shares your faith in Jesus Christ. If you are currently in a relationship that does not align with these principles, such as one that involves sexual intimacy outside of marriage (fornication, Hebrews 13:4) or a same-sex relationship (Romans 1:26-27), we must rebuke this in love and encourage you to repent and seek Godās design for purity and holiness.
