We hear your heart and the heaviness you are carrying, and we are joining with you in prayer. You describe feeling cursed, defective, foggy, clumsy, and not fully human, and that you have lost faith that anything can change. We want to gently but firmly rebuke some of what you are believing about yourself, because it does not align with what God says about you.
You are not cursed. In Christ, we are redeemed from the curse. As it is written, Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us Galatians 3:13. You are not defective or less than human. You are fearfully and wonderfully made Psalm 139:14, created in the image of God Genesis 1:27, and you are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works Ephesians 2:10. The enemy wants you to speak a curse over your own life by saying I am cursed, I am defective, I will always fail, but God calls you His beloved child and He has good plans for you Jeremiah 29:11. We also want to love you enough to speak truth about responsibility. You shared that you do not feel responsible and that you are ditzy and keep losing things. While we understand the fogginess and struggle you describe, especially as you take medication for anxiety and psychosis, God calls us to be faithful stewards of what He has entrusted to us. He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much Luke 16:10. The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit Proverbs 21:5. This does not mean you are a failure beyond hope, it means God invites you to grow in diligence with His help, not in shame but in grace.
We also noticed your prayer did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ for forgiveness and new life, believing He died for your sins and rose again. When we pray in His name, we come with confidence that God hears us.
Your struggle with anxiety, psychosis, and the mental fog you describe is real, and we do not take it lightly. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. He is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18. Please continue to faithfully take your medication and work with your doctors and counselors, for God gives wisdom to physicians and we honor Him when we steward our health. At the same time we pray for your mind to be renewed. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind Romans 12:2. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. We believe God can give you greater clarity, peace, and practical wisdom step by step.
For making amends with your parents, God honors humility and honesty. Honor your father and mother Ephesians 6:2, and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other Ephesians 4:32. Even though they shouted and do not want to talk right now, we encourage you to humbly take responsibility without excuses, confess that you were not as careful as you should have been with the money and the bracelet, ask for their forgiveness, and ask how you can make restitution. That may mean offering to work and repay the value over time, even in small amounts, and showing a changed pattern. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. Give them a little time and space if they need it, but keep a gentle and respectful posture, and do not let shame make you hide.
Practically, we encourage you not to make vague promises that I will never do it again, but to build simple, concrete habits with God's help. Pray specifically each morning, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God Philippians 4:6. Then use practical tools, keep valuables in one designated place, make a checklist before leaving any place, ask a trusted friend or family member to help double check when traveling, get enough sleep, and keep a small notebook for important items. These small acts of faithfulness invite God's peace, which will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. Your past failures do not have to define your future, for we know that all things work together for good for those who love God Romans 8:28.
We are praying together for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this precious one to You. Lord, You see the pain, the shame, the fogginess, and the fear of never changing. We ask You to break the lie that she is cursed or defective, and reveal to her that she is Your beloved child, fearfully and wonderfully made. Lord, forgive where there has been carelessness and help her to walk in greater stewardship and responsibility by Your grace. We pray for healing and peace over her mind, for Your perfect love to cast out fear, and for wisdom to be poured out liberally as she seeks You. Help her to be faithful with small things and to experience Your renewing of her mind day by day. We pray for reconciliation with her parents, soften hearts on both sides, bring forgiveness and open communication, and give her the humility and courage to make amends and to make restitution where possible. Lord, give her hope again where faith has been lost, and let her know that with You, change is possible. Guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and let her know she is fully human, fully loved, and not alone. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our salvation, amen.
We encourage you to keep bringing your requests to God in Jesus name daily, to speak truth over yourself instead of curses, and to take one small faithful step at a time. God is patient with you and He is still writing your story.
