I don't want to live far from God...

Beloved of All
There are many women these days who walk around naked (unfortunately). There are some who have actually flirted with me and tried to seduce me. There was a time when I was addicted to pornography (which is terrible). Now (to the glory of God) there is no pornography in my life, but I remain a weak and sinful person and I need God's action in me more than ever in these matters. Pray (if you have it in your heart) for me. May the Heavenly Father make me (permanently and forever) resistant to temptations from seductive women. May God make me (permanently and forever) wise, smart, foresightful and impenetrable to such temptations, in the Name of Jesus Christ! May there never be pornography or anything like it in my life again, because I do not want to live far from God...

We join you in thanking God for the victory He has already given you over the bondage of pornography, for it is by His grace and the power of the Holy Spirit that you have been set free. Your desire to walk closely with the Lord and resist temptation is a testament to the work He is doing in your heart, and we rejoice with you in this. The struggle you describe is one many face in a world that increasingly glorifies immorality and sensuality, but we must remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). The enemy seeks to ensnare us through lust, but we are called to be holy as God is holy (1 Peter 1:15-16).

The Lord Jesus warned us that anyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart (Matthew 5:28). This is why we must guard our hearts and minds diligently, for out of the heart come the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23). Job made a covenant with his eyes not to look lustfully at a young woman (Job 31:1), and we too must take radical steps to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18). This means avoiding places, media, or relationships that could lead us into temptation. If certain environments or interactions are causing you to stumble, it is wise to remove yourself from them entirely. The Scriptures tell us, "Make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts" (Romans 13:14).

You have rightly acknowledged your weakness, and this is where the strength of Christ is made perfect (2 Corinthians 12:9). We must never rely on our own wisdom or willpower, for apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5). Instead, we are to put on the whole armor of God—truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God—that we may stand firm against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:10-18). Memorizing Scripture is a powerful weapon against temptation, for when Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He responded with the Word of God (Matthew 4:1-11). Hide God’s Word in your heart that you might not sin against Him (Psalm 119:11).

We also encourage you to cultivate a life of prayer and fasting, for these disciplines strengthen our spirit and weaken the hold of the flesh. Jesus said, "This kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting" (Matthew 17:21). Surround yourself with brothers in Christ who can hold you accountable and encourage you in your walk. Confess your struggles to them, for we are called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2). Avoid isolation, for the enemy often attacks when we are alone.

As for the women who flirt or attempt to seduce you, remember that their behavior is a reflection of the broken world we live in, and they too are in need of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Pray for them, that their eyes may be opened to the truth and that they may turn from sin to righteousness. But guard your own heart and set firm boundaries. Flee from these situations as Joseph fled from Potiphar’s wife (Genesis 39:12). Do not engage in conversation or entertain thoughts that could lead you astray. Instead, redirect your focus to the Lord and to the good works He has prepared for you (Ephesians 2:10).

You have asked for permanent resistance to temptation, and we join you in this prayer, knowing that it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13). However, we must also remember that our sanctification is a lifelong process, and we will face trials and temptations until the day we are called home. But take heart, for the Lord is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear. With every temptation, He will also provide a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who seeks to walk in purity and holiness before You. Lord, we thank You for the victory he has already experienced over the sin of pornography, and we ask that You would strengthen him to stand firm in the freedom You have given him. Father, we know that the desires of the flesh war against the Spirit, and so we ask that You would fill him anew with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in step with You and not gratify the desires of the sinful nature (Galatians 5:16-17).

Lord Jesus, You were tempted in every way as we are, yet without sin (Hebrews 4:15). We ask that You would grant our brother the same power to resist temptation that You demonstrated in Your earthly ministry. Make him wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove (Matthew 10:16), that he may recognize the snares of the enemy and avoid them. Give him discernment to see the traps before they are sprung and the strength to flee from them.

Father, we pray that You would create in him a clean heart and renew a right spirit within him (Psalm 51:10). Let him not be conformed to this world, but transformed by the renewing of his mind, that he may prove what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2). Remove from him any lingering desires for impurity, and replace them with a hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6). Let his delight be in Your law, and may he meditate on it day and night (Psalm 1:2).

Lord, we ask that You would place a hedge of protection around him, that he may not be easily swayed by the allurements of this world. Surround him with godly men who will encourage him, hold him accountable, and spur him on toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24). Let him not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers (Psalm 1:1). Instead, let his joy be found in You alone.

Father, we rebuke every spirit of lust, temptation, and impurity that seeks to ensnare our brother. We bind these spirits in the name of Jesus Christ and command them to flee. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (Romans 8:37). Let him walk in the victory that is already his through the blood of Jesus.

We pray that You would give him a vision for the future You have for him—a future of purity, holiness, and service to Your kingdom. If it is Your will, Lord, provide him with a godly wife who will walk beside him in faith, encouraging him in righteousness and spurring him on in his relationship with You. But until that time, let him remain steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord (1 Corinthians 15:58).

Finally, Father, we ask that You would remind our brother daily of the price You paid for his redemption. Let him never forget that his body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, bought with the precious blood of Jesus (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). May this truth compel him to honor You in all he does, thinking, and says.

We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your faithfulness and Your power to keep our brother from stumbling and to present him blameless before Your presence with great joy (Jude 24). May all the glory, honor, and praise be unto You, Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We're right there with you, brother. We understand the struggle you're facing, and we want you to know that you're not alone. We're standing with you, praying with you, and believing with you for victory in this area of your life.

We're glad to hear that you've been set free from the bondage of pornography. That's a testament to God's grace and power in your life. But we also understand that the battle against temptation doesn't end there. It's a daily struggle, and we need to be vigilant.

We want to encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. He is the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). When we keep our eyes on Him, we're less likely to stumble. Also, remember that God hasn't given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). So, let's walk in that power and love, trusting God to help us overcome any temptation that comes our way.

We're also praying for wisdom for you. We pray that God would give you discernment to recognize temptation when it comes and the strength to flee from it. We pray that you would be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove (Matthew 10:16).

And remember, brother, God is faithful. He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear, but He will always provide a way out so that you can endure it (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Let's keep encouraging each other in this journey of faith. We're in this together, and we believe that, by the grace of God, we can overcome any temptation that comes our way.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!
