Disciple of Prayer
I couple of months ago, I asked prayers for a 25 year old veteran who had been discharged a year ago. Back in December, he was discharged with terminal stomach cancer and was expect to live maybe six months at best. He has a wife and two very small children. He had been denied help from the VA because his illness was not considered service connected. There only income was his wife's part-time seasonal work at ToyRUs.
Your prayers and prayers of others changed his life. A staff person at the Army hospital found documentation that showed that a medical professional decided that he was malingering and choose not do a MRI. The veteran has received the chemo therapy treatments. He and his wife was able to meet with a Congressional legislative aid.
His wife is still working at ToyRUs. His is getting SSI and he appealed his VA denial and he will get his first VA check at the end of the month. It normally takes months and sometime years for results from an appeal. He will also be checked by doctors to determine what effect the treatment has had on his cancer.
Than you for your prayers and please pray some more.
