I commit lust every single day.

I haven't been praying for people on here lately because of a lack of motivation but I really want to, and I will try to do it tonight if I get the chance. I fell into lust today even though I have been thinking of Jesus all day and have came to him before and after I got an urge, and I tried to read the Bible to take the urge away. I look at certain women lustfully in public, and I feel terrible because of it. I am going to Church tomorrow which I am excited about so that's good. The prayers that I need mainly are, motivation to pray for people on here, quit lust. Thank you if you do pray for me, advice would help as well! Amen!

Also my page is broken it looks all weird and it's hard to pray for people because of it, is this happening to anyone else?

We hear your honest confession and we thank you for bringing this struggle into the light, for that is where healing begins. We rejoice with you that you have been thinking of Jesus throughout the day and turning to Him before and after temptation, and that you are seeking His Word and looking forward to gathering with His people at church tomorrow. That desire for Jesus and for His house is evidence of the Holy Spirit working in you, and we want to stand with you in prayer for deliverance and for renewed motivation to intercede for others.

We want to speak plainly and lovingly about what you are facing, because God calls lust what it is. Jesus Himself said, but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. Matthew 5:28. Lust is not a small habit or a private struggle, it is sexual immorality in the heart, and Scripture commands us to Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18. We say this not to condemn you, for there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ, but to call you to the serious repentance that leads to freedom. We also hear your sorrow over looking at women lustfully in public, and that godly sorrow is good because it leads to repentance, but we urge you not to remain in shame. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9.

The pattern you describe, where an urge comes even while you are thinking of Jesus and trying to read the Bible to make it go away, is common because temptation begins in our desires. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lust and enticed. Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin. And the sin, when it is fully grown, produces death. James 1:14-15. Reading the Bible in the moment of temptation is good, but lasting victory comes from a daily renewing of the mind and walking by the Spirit before temptation comes. Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Romans 12:2. Walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16. This means making a covenant with your eyes as Job did when he said I made a covenant with my eyes, how then should I look lustfully at a young woman. Job 31:1. It means bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5, and choosing to think on what is pure, Whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8.

Practically, we encourage you to flee not just inwardly but outwardly. Turn your eyes away immediately when you see a woman and are tempted to lust, look to Jesus instead, pray a short prayer in that moment, and keep walking. Avoid second looks and any media or places that stir up lust. Bring this struggle into the light with a trusted mature Christian man or pastor who can hold you accountable and pray with you regularly. Memorize Scripture so that your mind is already full of truth when temptation comes, and consider fasting and prayer to discipline the flesh. Remember that No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13. There is always a way of escape, and we pray you will take it every time.

We also hear your desire to pray for people here but feeling a lack of motivation. We understand that weariness, especially when you feel defeated by sin, yet interceding for others is one way God lifts us out of ourselves and fills us with His love. We encourage you to see praying for others not as a burden but as obedience to love your neighbor and as part of your own healing. Pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:17. Even a short prayer like Jesus help this person is powerful. As you sow prayer for others, God will often restore your own joy and strength.

We now join together and bring you before our Father in Jesus name.

Father, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, through whom alone we have access to Your throne of grace. We thank You for this dear brother who desires to be clean and to serve You. We confess with him that he has sinned in his heart through lust, and we ask You to forgive him and cleanse him completely through the blood of Jesus. Create in him a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within him. Psalm 51:10. Give him a holy hatred for sin and a deep love for purity. Teach him to make a covenant with his eyes and to take every thought captive to Christ. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit so that he walks by the Spirit and does not fulfill the lust of the flesh. When temptation comes, show him the way of escape and give him strength to flee. Renew his mind daily through Your Word. Restore to him the joy of his salvation and the motivation to pray for others with love and compassion. Bless his time at church tomorrow, let him hear Your Word with power, and surround him with brothers who will encourage him and hold him accountable. We ask that You make him a man of prayer, faithful to intercede for others, and a man of purity who honors women as sisters in Christ and keeps himself for the godly marriage You may have for him. We pray all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

We encourage you to keep coming to Jesus immediately when you fall, not running from Him, and to keep delighting in His Word not only as a tool against urges but as daily bread to know Him more. Keep going to church, stay in fellowship, and keep praying even short prayers for others tonight as you desired. God is faithful to complete the work He has begun in you, and we are praying with you for complete freedom.

We appreciate your honesty in sharing this, and we hear how discouraging it feels to want to do what is right and still fall into the same struggle.

Thank you for wanting to pray for others here even while you are carrying this burden. That desire to look outward is a good sign, and we are glad you are excited about church tomorrow. Being with God's people regularly is one of the steady ways He strengthens us.

One thing that has helped many who feel stuck in this area is to think less about trying harder in the moment of temptation and more about training over time. Like preparing for a marathon, growth comes through small, consistent practices over months and years, not a single effort to white-knuckle through an urge. Reading your Bible and turning to Jesus when urges come are good practices, and they shape you gradually even when they do not make the urge instantly disappear. Seeing yourself as a work in progress can take some of the shame out of the process and help you keep going.

A practical next step that often helps is not to carry this alone. Since you will be at church tomorrow, consider asking one mature, trusted man there if you could check in with him weekly for honest encouragement and prayer. Isolation makes this struggle harder, and having another person to lift you up makes a real difference. Tonight, if motivation feels low, keep it simple and pray briefly for just one or two people here rather than feeling you must cover everyone.

Father, we lift our brother to You. You know his desire to walk in purity and to have a heart to pray for others. Give him encouragement, strength for each day, and wise support around him. Draw him closer to You and guide him as he meets with Your people tomorrow. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

🙏Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your willingness to confess this struggle openly is itself a mercy from God, for He brings hidden things into the light that He may heal them. I thank God that you have been thinking of Christ throughout the day, that you have turned to Him before and after temptation, that you have opened the Bible to fight the urge, and that you look forward to gathering with His people tomorrow. These are signs that His grace is at work in you, even while the battle remains fierce.

Scripture is plain about the nature of this sin. Lust, when it is allowed to conceive, brings forth sin, and sin when it is finished brings forth death. That is the pedigree of sin, it is born of lust and it brings forth death. Any sin, whatever it is, if we cling to it and love it, will bring forth death. Our Lord said that to look upon a woman to lust after her is to commit adultery already in the heart. Charity and purity are the two great garments of Christianity, and charity without purity will be of no use, for without holiness no man shall see the Lord. To feel terrible after looking lustfully is not to be despised, it is the conscience bearing witness that you have stained the garment which Christ would keep white.

You must know also that temptation itself is not sin when it is hated and resisted. A man may be tempted to flee from the service of God, but he may hate the temptation and then there is no sin in it to him. The danger is when the temptation is welcomed and entertained, when the eye is allowed to linger and the heart to conceive. Therefore our Lord taught us to pray, Lead us not into temptation. That prayer means, spare me from too great trials, and oh, let temptation do me no hurt, let me not stain my garments, let me not slip nor slide. And he who prays that prayer honestly must never go into temptation willingly. The man who prays Lead us not into temptation and then goes into it is a liar before God.

So I would give you this counsel for your good. First, make a covenant with your eyes as Job did, and resolve before God what you will not look upon. If certain places, streets, images, or screens cause you to stumble, flee from them as you would flee from a serpent. Do not test your strength by lingering where you know you are weak. Second, cut off provision for the flesh. Put away whatever feeds lust in private, set guards upon your phone and computer, and keep yourself from idleness which gives the enemy his opportunity. Third, arm yourself with Scripture not only in the moment of urge but daily, storing it in your heart that you may have a sword ready. Psalm 119 says, Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way, by taking heed thereto according to thy word. Memorize such passages and speak them aloud when tempted. Fourth, seek the help of a faithful brother in your church tomorrow, one to whom you can give account weekly, who will ask you plainly how you have walked and who will pray with you. Sin grows in secrecy and dies when it is brought into the light of honest fellowship. Fifth, keep looking to the Lord Jesus Christ for all things. He is not a distant memory but a living Friend, able to keep you from falling and to overcome even the sin that has overcome you. Look to Him not only for pardon after failure but for power before it.

Concerning your desire to pray for others, do not wait until you feel motivated. Charity and purity must go together, and the visitation of others in their affliction is not left optional. Motivation often follows obedience, not the other way around. Begin with a short list, set a time tonight as you purposed, and pray briefly and truly for a few names. Ask God to give you love for souls even as you ask Him to give you purity of heart. Saints first learn to overcome evil, and then they learn to overcome goodness itself by looking to Christ until He yields His blessing.

Let me pray for you now. O Lord, look upon this brother who confesses his sin and desires to be clean. Forgive him through the blood of Christ shed for sinners, and wash him anew. Lead him not into temptation, but deliver him from evil. Withdraw not thy grace from him, but strengthen him by thy Spirit in the inner man, that he may hate lust and love holiness. Give him eyes that turn away from vanity, a mind stayed upon Christ, and a heart that finds greater joy in purity than in sin. Restore to him a delight in prayer, and make him a blessing to others even as thou makest him holy. Keep him steadfast when he gathers with thy people tomorrow, and let him hear thy word with power. In Jesus name, Amen.

Do not despair if the victory comes not all at once. The Lord who has begun a good work will perfect it. Keep coming to Him before and after every urge, keep His word before your eyes, keep out of the way of temptation, and keep your hope fixed upon Christ who is able to make you stand fast at the end of the day.
