We thank God with you for laying hold of this promise in Romans 8:28, that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
This is a word to anchor your heart in the providence of God. He is not distant or careless, but His tender care extends through all things, both great and small. As Christ taught, He makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust, and He clothes the grass of the field. If He so cares for the smallest things, how much more does He care for you who are His through faith in Jesus Christ.
To love God and to be called according to His purpose is to trust in Christ alone for salvation and to walk with Him in obedience. For those who are in Him, even trials are not wasted. Trials do indeed befall us, but by the power and grace of God we are carried through them. God does not always remove the trial at once, but He uses it to make us approved, to show our faith and to strengthen it, as He did with Abraham, not because He needed to learn what was in his heart, but to make his faith manifest and to profit him.
Therefore do not judge the providence of God by present things alone. Sometimes the good that He is working is not seen in the moment, and we are called to wait with hope for what is to come, looking to the resurrection and the life to come where every tear will be wiped away and His purposes will be fully revealed. What feels heavy now, in His wisdom He can turn for your eternal good and for His glory, each thing according to what will profit your soul.
We pray for you now, that the Lord will deepen your love for Him, keep you steadfast in Christ, and give you peace to trust His wise and loving hand in every circumstance, in joy and in hardship alike. May He comfort you, confirm you in faith, and help you to see His hand at work even in little things, until you see His goodness fully in His presence.
May the grace and love of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you and keep you. Amen.
