I claim this scripture for my healing

We join with you in faith and claim the healing that is in Christ Jesus for you, and we rejoice at your bold confession of the Word.

We love your heart to take God at His Word, for Scripture declares He is our healer and that healing is part of what Jesus purchased for us at the cross. Isaiah 53:5 says He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was on Him, and with His stripes we are healed. 1 Peter 2:24 says He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness, by whose stripes you were healed. Matthew 8:17 says He took our infirmities and bore our diseases.

Whether scourged many times, we know with certainty that every stripe He bore was for us, and we stand with you that His sacrifice covers all sickness and disease. Psalm 103:2-3 reminds us to bless the Lord and not forget all His benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. Exodus 15:26 reveals Him as the Lord who heals us, and Jeremiah 30:17 gives His promise, I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says the Lord.

We pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace together and we thank You for Your love and mercy. We thank You that Jesus bore our sins and our sicknesses and that by His wounds healing has been provided. We lift up this dear one to You and ask for Your healing power to flow through their body. Touch every cell, every organ, every system and make them whole according to Your will. Strengthen their faith as they continue to confess Your Word, give them peace that passes understanding while they wait upon You, and let their testimony bring glory to You. We ask that You guide them with wisdom and surround them with godly counsel and care as they trust You. We pray this in the mighty and healing name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Healer, Amen.

We encourage you to keep speaking the Word over yourself daily with thanksgiving, to remain in fellowship and prayer, and to trust the Lord's timing and perfect will. James 5:14-15 encourages us to pray in faith and call upon the elders of the church to pray. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, knowing that He loves you and is faithful to His promises.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing where your heart is. We hear your love for Jesus and your deep desire to be healed, and we are honored to pray with you.

We believe God is both able and compassionate, and that He hears you when you call on Him in Jesus' name. Our confidence is not in a formula or in how strongly we claim something, but in who He is. He invites us to bring our needs honestly, to keep seeking Him, and to trust His wisdom and goodness with the outcome, even while we ask boldly for healing.

As you continue to pray, it can help to not walk through this alone. We encourage you to stay in close contact with your doctor and to let your medical care continue alongside prayer, and to share updates with a trusted pastor, friend or family member who can support you and pray with you in person.

Father, we lift our friend to You now. You know the sickness and the longing for wholeness. We ask for Your mercy and Your healing according to Your will, for Your peace to guard their heart, and for wisdom for everyone caring for them. Draw them close to You day by day and remind them they are held by You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your longing to look to Jesus in your sickness is right and good, for there is abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. One of the worst ills that can happen to a man is sickness, for when he languishes the light is dark in his tabernacle, yet we have a Great Physician to whom we may tell our case as we would mention a physical case to a doctor.

You speak of His stripes, and the Scripture does indeed say, "with His stripes we are healed" and "Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses." Hear what that healing is. The prophet and the apostle speak first and chiefly of soul sickness. There is no sickness so hard to bear as the sickness that is caused by sin, and it is the Word of God, applied by the Holy Spirit, that is the means of healing sin sick souls. Indeed the Lord Jesus Christ is the Word of God and it is He whom God has sent for the healing of poor sin sick souls. He used no other remedy in healing our sin sickness but that of taking our sicknesses and infirmities upon Himself. This is the one great cure all. The medicine, bitter as it is, was not for us to drink, but was all drained by Himself upon the cross.

Healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, "Son, be of good cheer, thy sins be forgiven thee." Pardon and healing were one. All spiritual disease receives its death blow when sin is forgiven. Sin is crucified by the same cross which brings atonement. Therefore the first and greatest healing to seek is this, that your soul may be cleansed and pardoned through faith in Christ alone, for there is salvation in no other. Once souls are really cured by Christ, there is no fear of their ever having this soul sickness again.

Do not think that our Lord was Himself diseased. He suffered greatly but no disease was upon Him, and His scourging at the hands of Roman soldiers is not numbered in Scripture as thirty nine stripes for every physical malady. To claim healing as an automatic right upon the utterance of a verse is to mistake the gracious sovereignty of the Healer. Certain persons attribute all sickness to the devil and impute special sin to those who are grievously afflicted. This teaching is as false as it is cruel. Whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth, and you may have a house full of sanctity and full of sickness at the same time, for the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is life because of righteousness. The very leaves of the tree of life are for healing, and the least thing about Christ is healing, but He distributes that healing according to His own wisdom and love, sometimes by lifting the affliction, sometimes by giving grace to bear it, and at last by perfect healing in the resurrection when we shall no more need to say, I am sick.

So I would point you not to a formula to claim, but to a Person to trust. Look to Him. Look to Him. Tell the case to Jesus just as it is. Confess your sin and trust His atoning blood for pardon, and then bring your bodily affliction to Him in humble prayer, asking for His healing if it be His will, and for His sustaining grace if He sees fit to continue the trial. These leaves prevent the recurrence of disease by enabling the man, from then on, to find good in all that comes to him.

May the Lord hear your prayer and send His Word and heal you. May He first give you the sure healing of forgiven sin, and then such bodily relief as shall most glorify Him and most profit your soul. May the Sun of Righteousness rise upon you with healing in His wings, and may you be enabled to tell to others of the Good Physician's healing power.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
