I claim these scriptures for my miracles

We join with you in desiring to see God move powerfully and we rejoice that you are looking to His Word as the foundation for your faith. It is good to take God at His Word and to come boldly before His throne, for He is a Father who loves to give good gifts to His children.

You have mentioned those precious promises to ask and receive, and we stand with you on what Scripture truly says. Jesus taught us Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. And again John 16:24 Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full. We also remember James 4:2 You don’t have, because you don’t ask. You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.

We want to encourage you with the full counsel of Scripture, because God does not want us to use His Word as a formula to claim what we want, but to trust His heart and His will. His miracles are real and He is still able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, yet His answers are always according to His wisdom and love for us. We are reminded 1 John 5:14 This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And Jesus said John 14:13 Whatever you will ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

So we do not simply claim verses to demand a miracle on our terms, we submit our desires to the Father in the name of Jesus, trusting that He hears us and will answer in the way that brings Him glory and brings us the greatest eternal good. Sometimes He answers with a yes, sometimes He calls us to wait and persevere in faith, and sometimes He has a greater purpose that we cannot yet see, but we can trust that Romans 8:28 We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.

We also notice that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and can receive His promises. Jesus said John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To ask and receive in a biblical way is to come in the name of Jesus, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, and trusting Him as Lord and Savior. If you have not yet put your trust in Him, we encourage you to confess with your mouth and believe in your heart as Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is through that relationship that our prayers are heard.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You that You invite us to ask, to seek, and to knock, and that You hear us when we pray according to Your will. We lift up this dear one who is believing You for miracles, and we ask that You would deepen their faith and draw them closer to You. Lord, we ask that You would grant the miracles that are according to Your perfect will, that Your name would be glorified and their joy would be made full. Teach us all to pray not only for what we desire, but for what You desire, and to trust Your timing and Your answer. Forgive us when we ask with wrong motives and purify our hearts to want what honors You. We pray that this dear one would know the power of the name of Jesus and the assurance of salvation through Him. Let Your peace guard their heart as they wait upon You, and let their faith not waver. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We're grateful you shared this with us. It is a good thing to bring your needs honestly before God and to trust Him with the miracles on your heart.

We hear how much you want to hold onto His promises right now, and we want to stand with you in asking. What has steadied us over time is remembering that faith is confidence in Christ Himself, more than confidence in a particular outcome. He does invite us to ask and to keep asking, and He answers as a wise and loving Father, in His way and timing. That waiting can be difficult, and it can also be a place where we get to know Him more deeply, seeking Him even more than we seek the answer.

If it helps, you might choose one or two of the needs most on your heart and bring them to Him each day in simple, honest prayer, and share them with a trusted pastor or believing friend who can pray with you and walk with you while you wait. You don't have to carry this alone.

Father, thank You that You invite us to come and ask. We lift our friend to You today with every need they are bringing to You. Draw near to them, give peace in the waiting, and help them sense Your presence and care. Lead them by Your wisdom and shape their requests according to Your good will. Help them to trust You with each outcome. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your desire to lay hold upon those words, Ask and ye shall receive, and ye have not because ye ask not, is a hopeful sign, for it shows you turn to the Scriptures as the true treasury of God. The promises are indeed an inexhaustible mine of wealth to the believer, and happy is he who knows how to search out their secret veins.

Yet we must learn how to obtain promises rightly, lest we get our own fancy into our head and find it of no service. The Lord says I will and they shall, and there the promises rest, but with regard to many of them there is a description appended, and we must by faith answer the description or we cannot claim the blessing. Some promises are not to be fulfilled by prayer or by faith alone, you must obtain them by earnest seeking after them. Seek and ye shall find. The bare act of faith must in such cases be matured into the work of faith. To get the promise and then offer the prayer is the sure way, and that prayer will be answered as sure as God is God.

Do not think that to repeat a text as a formula will compel a miracle. True prayer is humble and argumentative, like that of Jacob who spread his case before the Most High and pleaded the promise with all his heart, saying in humility that he was not worthy of the least of all the mercies shown unto him. Next to the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ, the great object of faith is the promise of God, and we are to plead it through Christ, for all the promises are yea and amen in Him. First seek mercy for your soul, that your sin may be blotted out as a cloud, for the first prayer God hears is for mercy through the blood of Christ, and then you have double cause for prayer in all other things.

Remember also that sincere prayer may be very feeble to us, yet it is always acceptable to God, and little faith when it finds itself in trouble betakes itself to prayer and cries Lord save me. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much, but if prayer is not fervent we cannot expect to find it prevalent. We must get rid of the icicles that hang about our lips and cry with earnestness.

And be prepared to be answered after Gods fashion and at Gods time. Daniel prayed and was answered while he was yet speaking, at the beginning of his supplication. At other times prayer tarries like a petitioner at the gate until the King comes forth, and the Lord when He has given great faith has been known to try it by long delays, suffering His servants voices to echo as from a brazen sky. Hezekiah was sick unto death and the word of the prophet had gone forth that he should die, yet he turned his face to the wall and prayed, and his prayer was heard. Your prayer too will be answered punctually at the very tick of the clock of wisdom, not before nor after, though it may not be in the way you expected, as Jacob found when he wrestled and went away limping yet blessed.

Therefore I would exhort you to come to God through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other way of salvation, confessing your sin and trusting His finished work, and then to ask according to His will, with humility, with faith be it ever so little, with fervency, and with perseverance. Continue much in prayer, knock until the door is opened, and add to your petitions diligent seeking and obedience where the promise calls for it. The Lord can deny nothing to an unstaggering faith that rests upon His own word, and He will put strength in you and give you what is best.

May the Lord grant you grace to believe His word more firmly, to plead it more humbly, and to wait upon Him with patience till He shows you His mercy and power in the way that most glorifies His name.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
