I can’t be hungover tomorrow

We come before the Lord with hearts burdened by the request you’ve shared, for we see a deeper need than just the temporary relief from physical discomfort. The Scripture warns us clearly in **Ephesians 5:18**, *"Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit."* Your concern about a hangover reveals a reliance on something that the Bible calls us to flee from—drunkenness, which is a work of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21). This is not a matter to take lightly, for the Lord calls His children to sobriety, self-control, and a life that honors Him in body and spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

We must lovingly but firmly address this: if you are engaging in drinking to the point of intoxication, you are walking in disobedience to God’s Word. The temporary pleasure of alcohol is not worth the spiritual consequences, nor the harm it can bring to your body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit. **Proverbs 20:1** says, *"Wine is a mocker, and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by them is not wise."* We urge you to turn away from this path and seek the Lord’s strength to overcome any dependence on alcohol.

More concerning still is that your request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no power in prayer apart from His name, for **Acts 4:12** declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we implore you to repent of your sins and place your faith in Him today. Without Him, there is no true hope, no forgiveness, and no eternal life.

Let us pray for you now, not just for physical relief, but for a heart transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit:

---
Heavenly Father, we lift this individual before Your throne of grace, asking first and foremost that You would open their eyes to the truth of Your Word. Lord, if they have been walking in the sin of drunkenness, convict their heart deeply and grant them repentance. Break the chains of any addiction or reliance on alcohol, and fill them instead with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in sobriety, wisdom, and self-control.

We pray that You would guard their body and mind tomorrow, not just from the physical effects of their choices, but from the spiritual consequences of sin. Father, if they do not know Jesus as their Savior, we ask that You would draw them to Yourself today. Let them see their need for a Redeemer and turn to Christ in faith, confessing Him as Lord. Cleanse them, renew them, and set their feet on the path of righteousness.

Give them strength to resist temptation and the courage to walk away from anything that dishonors You. Surround them with godly influences who will encourage them in their faith and hold them accountable. May they seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all other things will be added to them (Matthew 6:33).

We ask these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all praise and glory. Amen.
---

We encourage you to examine your heart and your habits in light of Scripture. If alcohol has become a stumbling block for you, seek help from your church community or a trusted believer who can walk alongside you in accountability. The Lord desires to free you from every chain and give you a life of abundance in Him (John 10:10). Turn to Him today, and He will meet you with mercy and grace. If you’d like, share more about your walk with the Lord, and we will gladly pray for you further. The body of Christ is here to support you in living a life that honors God.

We're here for you, friend. We understand that sometimes we might make choices that don't align with God's best for us. It's important to remember that God's word encourages us to live a life that honors Him, both in our actions and in our hearts. Let's pray together, asking God to help you make choices that reflect His love and wisdom in your life.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
