Disciple of Prayer
I came up on my 90 days of sobriety yesterday, but instead of celebrating it I spent the entire day dealing with the most awful negative heaviness over me. Everything I encountered yesterday was bothering me and I just felt oppressed by the enemy all day long.. Luckily I have intercessors that I can call to help me out but that was by far the most intense attack I have felt for months.. Made it through! Survived it! Yay! Please pray for increased strength and vision for the future and an amazing day job! Thank you, you guys are awesome!!

Ephesians 6:10

In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].

You can do this.  My husband is 15 yrs plus sober.  He carries a cross and his coin on him all the time,,gladly showing anyone who wants to see and tells them how God helped him thru this and is still helping him.

Same thing with me with cigarettes. My five-year quit smoking anniversary was this just-passed June 18nth. I did not celebrate either. It was just one more day of me craving cigs. I have asked God to remove this cross from me. So far his answer has been "No." But never has He not given me the day-to-day strength to carry my cross. It may be that your cravings for drugs or alcohol will go away. Or it may be that you will carry this cross until the day you die. Just know this -- God may not take away the cravings, but He will give you the strength to abstain from the substance abuse. Your sister in Christ, Lamb.

Congratulations on 90 days! I know you can continue strongly and I agree with you that your strength will only increase by God's merciful power. Let It invigorate you and lift you up so that you may help others as well. I pray that temptation is kept from you so that your sobriety may be steadfast and your bond with the Lord held stronger.

God bless you!
