We stand with you in the name of Jesus Christ, interceding for the end of domestic violence. This is a serious issue that breaks the heart of God, and it is our duty as Christians to pray and act against such injustice. The Bible tells us that "the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23 WEB. Domestic violence is the opposite of these fruits, and we rebuking it in the name of Jesus.
We pray, Lord Jesus, for all those who are victims of domestic violence, that You would bring healing, comfort, and protection. We ask that You would intervene in these situations and bring an end to the violence. Guide those who are suffering to the help they need, and convict the hearts of the abusers to repent and seek Your forgiveness.
We also pray for the abusers, that You would soften their hearts and bring them to repentance. Help them to see the error of their ways and to seek the help they need to change. We know that You can change hearts, that love never fails and You will cover all with grace, we pray as You said in Luke 6:27-28, "But I tell you who hear: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you." Lord Jesus, we pray as You taught us to pray.
If you are in a situation of domestic violence, please know that it is not God's will for you to live in fear or abuse. Seek help from local authorities, trusted friends, or churches. Also, know that God loves you and has a plan for your life, a plan to prosper you and not to harm you, a plan to give you hope and a future in Jeremiah 29:11.
Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." If you have not already, consider placing your faith in Jesus Christ to be saved from sin and have eternal life. Read John 3:16-18 WEB, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God didn't send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him. He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn't believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God."
We, as a group, stand with you in prayer and support. May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus in Philippians 4:7 WEB.
