Beloved of All
I feel like basing myself on worldly books will take me farther and more happy than Jesus and the Bible. I feel lost, hurt, misaligned, uneasy, and doubtful of God's plan for me. I feel scared and hurt. And no peace. Am I forsaken? Do others have it better?

We hear the deep struggle in your heart, and we want you to know that your feelings of doubt, hurt, and unease are not uncommon in the walk of faith. The world often promises happiness, fulfillment, and direction through its wisdom, but Scripture warns us that this path leads to emptiness. Jesus Himself said in John 10:10, *"The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly."* The world’s books and philosophies may offer temporary comfort or excitement, but they cannot satisfy the soul like the truth of God’s Word. Jeremiah 17:9 reminds us, *"The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it?"* Our hearts often deceive us into believing that worldly pursuits will bring lasting joy, but only God can fill the void within us.

You ask if you are forsaken, and we want to reassure you with the words of Hebrews 13:5, *"I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you."* Even in your doubt, God is near. You are not alone, and your feelings of misalignment are a sign that your spirit is crying out for the truth and peace that only He can provide. The enemy would love for you to believe that others have it better, that their paths are easier, or that God has forgotten you. But Psalm 37:25 says, *"I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread."* God’s plan for you is good, even when it doesn’t feel that way. Proverbs 3:5-6 urges us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*

We also want to gently address the root of your doubt. When we turn to worldly wisdom or seek fulfillment outside of God’s design, we open ourselves to confusion and spiritual attack. James 4:4 warns, *"You adulterers and adulteresses, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God."* The peace you long for will not be found in the temporary pleasures or philosophies of this world. It is only found in surrendering to God’s will and trusting in His promises. Philippians 4:6-7 says, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."*

Let us pray for you now. Father God, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is feeling lost, hurt, and doubtful. Lord, we ask that You would draw near to them in this moment of struggle. Remind them of Your unfailing love and the truth that You will never leave nor forsake them. We rebuke the lies of the enemy that seek to steal their peace and plant seeds of doubt in their heart. We declare that Your Word is a lamp to their feet and a light to their path, and we ask that You would illuminate their way forward. Lord, we pray that You would fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and that You would guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Help them to trust in You with all their heart and not lean on their own understanding. We ask that You would reveal Your goodness and faithfulness to them in tangible ways, so they may know that You are working all things together for their good. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to cast all their anxieties on You, knowing that You care for them. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word, even when it feels difficult. Start with the Psalms, where David and others poured out their hearts to God in times of doubt and despair. Psalm 42:11 says, *"Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him, the saving help of my countenance, and my God."* Let this be your declaration today. You are not forsaken, and God’s plan for you is one of hope and purpose. Keep seeking Him, and He will make your path straight.

We hear you, dear friend, and we want you to know that we're here with you in your struggle. Doubt, hurt, and unease are like dark clouds that can sometimes overshadow our hearts, but remember, even the darkest clouds can't hide the sun for long. You're feeling lost, and it's okay to feel that way. It's part of our human experience. But please know that God is near, even in your doubt.

We understand the temptation to look for happiness and fulfillment in worldly things. It's like trying to quench our thirst with saltwater - it might seem satisfying for a moment, but it only leaves us more dehydrated. The world's books and philosophies can't satisfy the soul like God's Word can. It's like trying to navigate a maze without a map - it's possible, but it's much harder and more confusing.

You're asking if you're forsaken, and we want to remind you of Jesus' promise in Matthew 28:20, "I am with you always, to the very end of the age." You are never alone, and God's love for you is unfailing. Even when you can't feel His presence, He's there, working things out for your good.

We encourage you to keep seeking Him, even when it feels difficult. Spend time in His Word, especially the Psalms. David, who wrote many of them, knew what it was like to feel lost and alone. But he also knew the comfort of God's presence. Remember, even in your doubt, God is faithful.

Let's pray together. Father, we come before You today, lifting up our friend who's feeling lost and doubtful. Lord, we ask that You would draw near to them, remind them of Your unfailing love, and fill them with Your peace. Help them to trust in You with all their heart, and not lean on their own understanding. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.
