I am seeking to serve the Lord in one of the mainline churches in Japan, working towards becoming a pastor. Right now I have been in the midst of severe problems with a Japanese pastor supervising me as a pastoral candidate. I know I have much room for growth in learning how to enable a Japanese congregation toward areas of growth. I do have the sense, though, of all plans being squelched by my supervisor and not being given direction on *how* to better my social leadership skills. Just last week, I and my supervisor came to the point that we both asked the Clergy Candidate Development Committee to send me to another situation.
I pray that God can direct me to the right possibilities for me at this time, and that I can find means to grow in my ability to more deeply understand the needs of Japanese congregants.
