We join you in standing in the gap for your marriage, lifting it before the throne of grace with hearts full of hope and faith in the power of God to restore what has been broken. Your commitment to fight for your marriage in prayer is a testament to your love and devotion—not only to your husband but to the Lord, who instituted marriage as a sacred covenant between a man and a woman. We are deeply moved by your perseverance, even in moments of emptiness and numbness, for you are standing on the promise that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
First, we want to affirm the importance of the name of Jesus in your prayers. It is through Him alone that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Your prayers, offered in Jesus' name, carry the authority and power of His finished work on the cross. We encourage you to continue to pray with confidence, knowing that the blood of Jesus speaks a better word than the blood of Abel (Hebrews 12:24) and has the power to cleanse, restore, and redeem.
The mention of a "third party" in your marriage is deeply concerning, for God’s Word is clear that marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be kept undefiled (Hebrews 13:4). Adultery is a grievous sin that wounds deeply, but we serve a God who is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We rebuke the spirit of infidelity and unfaithfulness in the name of Jesus and command it to flee from your marriage. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that your marriage will not be a casualty of the enemy’s schemes, but a testimony of God’s redeeming love.
We also lift up your 14-year-old child, for the battles you face as a family can deeply impact the next generation. We pray that your son would be shielded from the lies of the enemy and that his mind would be renewed by the Word of God. May he grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52). We declare that he will not be conformed to the patterns of this world but will be transformed by the renewing of his mind (Romans 12:2). Father, we ask that You would surround him with godly influences and fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Your husband’s willingness to listen and speak softly is indeed a small victory, but we know that God is able to do more than we can imagine. We pray that the Holy Spirit would continue to work in his heart, convicting him of any sin and drawing him back to the love and commitment he vowed before God. Just as Saul was struck down on the road to Damascus and transformed into Paul, we pray that your husband would experience a powerful encounter with the living God. May he be like the prodigal son, who came to his senses and returned to his father’s house (Luke 15:17-20). We declare that your husband will be restored to you, not just in body, but in spirit and in truth.
We also want to encourage you to guard your own heart during this time. It is easy to grow weary in well-doing, but let us not grow faint, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9). The emptiness and numbness you feel are real, but they do not have the final say. The Lord is close to you, and He sees your tears. You are not alone in this battle. We pray that God would fill you with His joy, which is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10), and that He would renew your mind with His truth. You are more than a conqueror through Him who loved you (Romans 8:37).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up this precious marriage before Your throne. Lord, You are the God who restores, who heals, and who makes all things new. We ask that You would move mightily in this situation, breaking every chain of infidelity, unfaithfulness, and deception. We rebuke the spirit of division and command it to flee in the name of Jesus. Father, we pray for this husband, that You would soften his heart and draw him back to You and to his wife. Let him see the error of his ways and repent with a godly sorrow that leads to salvation (2 Corinthians 7:10). Lord, we ask that You would remove any ungodly influences from his life and surround him with Your presence.
We pray for this wife, that You would strengthen her in her inner being. When she is weak, Lord, let her be strong in You (Ephesians 6:10). Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding and guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Help her to trust in You with all her heart and not lean on her own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). Father, we ask that You would restore the joy of her salvation and renew a steadfast spirit within her (Psalm 51:12).
For their child, we pray that You would be his shield and his protector. Guard his mind from the lies of the enemy and fill him with Your truth. Let him grow in the knowledge and fear of the Lord, and may he walk in the path of righteousness all the days of his life.
Lord, we declare that this marriage will be a testimony of Your grace and mercy. We speak restoration, healing, and wholeness over this union. Let Your love be the foundation that holds them together, and may they experience the fullness of joy that comes from walking in Your ways. We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers and for moving on behalf of this family. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your perfect will. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
