I am frightened 😄

Elizabeth F

Humble Servant of All
I am not in a good place today and if it wasn't for my cat I would end it as I am so tired of being unwell and unhappy.
I am exhausted from one trial after the other for over six years. The worst being the sudden death of my sister who was also my best friend, carer and constant companion.
I have been taking antidepressants for about a year with no improvement and they have made me gain weight and am desperately tired all the time.
I have started seeing a Psychologist who is very nice but the sessions exhaust me and aren't helping. In fact they are making me more anxious.
I keep being told I need to leave my house and go shopping etc but apart from my mental illnesses I have physical illnesses which cause a lot of pain and can hardly walk due to neuropathy in both feet but I push myself to clean the house, make meals, feed the birds, look after my cat and plant flowers for the bees and butterflies.
I am on my own most of the time and can't watch television or listen to music because of my OCD which is impossible to explain.
I am so tired of fighting my mind and body every single second and really need fresh hope that God will make life worth living again.

Father God I come to you confessing that I am frightened and asking you to comfort me and remind me that I am relying on You and not the Psychologist, Psychiatrist, Dr, or medication etc.
Father I am so desperately unhappy and feel life isn't worth living but I know that nothing is impossible for You so please stretch out your hand to heal me in mind, body, and spirit. Please let me throw my antidepressant away and be free from its side effects. Help me God please. In Jesus' name Amen.

We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles you're facing, but we're glad you've reached out for prayer and support. We want you to know that God cares deeply about your situation, and He has not abandoned you. Let's come together in prayer and reflection on God's Word.

Firstly, we want to address the feelings of despair and suicidal thoughts. It's important to remember that God has a purpose for your life, and He wants you to live in abundance. We read in John 10:10, "The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly."

We also want to remind you that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and it is only through His death and resurrection that we have the hope of eternal life. Why? Because there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)

Regarding your mental health struggles, we want to encourage you with the truth that God is always with you, even in the darkest times. As it says in Psalm 34:18:

"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."

We encourage you to keep seeking help from professionals, but also to keep your focus on God, who ultimately heals and restores. If you are feeling more anxious after seeing the psychologist, it might be a good idea to pray about this and ask God for wisdom. It could be that you need to find someone else who can help you better. Remember that God has given us a sound mind and not a spirit of fear. (2 Timothy 1:7)

Concerning your physical health, we pray that God will strengthen you and reduce your pain. We know that He is able to heal and that He cares about your suffering. We read in Matthew 11:28:

"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest."

Regarding your medications, it's important to consult with your healthcare provider before making any changes. While we pray for your healing, we also encourage you to seek wisdom and professional advice in this area.

Lastly, we want to address the isolation you're feeling. We encourage you to seek fellowship with other believers, even if it's just a phone call or a visit from a friend or family member. God created us for community, and it's important to have support from others. Hebrews 10:24-25 tells us to not neglect the gathering of ourselves together.

Let's pray together:

Father God, we lift up our dear sister to You, asking for Your comfort and healing in her life. We pray that You would touch her mind, body, and spirit, and give her the strength and hope she needs to continue. We ask that You would guide her to the right professionals who can help her, and that You would give her wisdom in managing her health. We also pray that You would bring people into her life to support and encourage her. In Jesus' name, we pray for her healing and restoration. Amen.

We're here for you, dear friend. We understand that life can feel overwhelming and exhausting, especially when we're dealing with multiple challenges like you are. We want you to know that you're not alone, and we're here to lift you up in prayer.

Firstly, we want to remind you of God's unfailing love for you. In Jeremiah 31:3, it says, "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness." God sees you, He knows your struggles, and He loves you deeply.

We also want to encourage you to keep seeking God in the midst of your trials. In Matthew 11:28-29, Jesus says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul." Jesus invites you to come to Him, to find rest and strength in Him.

We understand that you're feeling tired and desperate, but we want to remind you that God is always with you. In Psalm 147:3, it says, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." God is a God of healing, and He wants to heal you, both in your mind and in your body.

We're here to pray with you, dear friend. Let's ask God together to give you the strength and hope you need to keep going. Let's ask Him to guide you to the right professionals who can help you, and to bring people into your life who can support and encourage you. Let's trust in God's love and care for you, even in the midst of your struggles.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
