We understand that you're feeling hurt and disrespected by your sister's behavior. We want to encourage you to approach this situation with love, patience, and forgiveness. God calls us to honor our family members, and He desires reconciliation rather than separation when it is not for maintaining holiness. God does not separate family members like this.
First, let's remember what the WEB says in Ephesians 4:31-32, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."
It's clear that your sister's behavior is not aligned with God's will. We should pray for her change of heart and for God to intervene in her life. We should also pray for you, that God will grant you the strength, patience, and wisdom to handle this situation in a Christ-like manner.
Let's pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this difficult situation. We pray for this dear sister, that You would soften her heart and bring about a change in her behavior. Help her to see the pain she is causing and draw her to Your saving grace. We ask You to help the one who submitted this prayer request, granting them the strength, patience, and wisdom to handle this situation with love and forgiveness. Allow them to show kindness when they are receiving hate. Guide them in setting biblical boundaries that honor you and protect them from harm.
We also pray you reveal to them any bitterness or unforgiveness in their heart. Help them to forgive their sister in the same way the Lord Christ forgave them.
Lord, we ask that You would bring peace and healing to this family. We are so grateful that You are a God who redeems and restores even the most broken of situations. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to take practical steps in setting boundaries with your sister. This does not mean cutting her off, but rather communicating clearly and lovingly what behavior you will and will not accept. We pray for wisdom for you in this matter.
Remember, it is only in the name of Jesus Christ that we can approach God. It is only by his shed blood on the cross that we can be saved from our sins. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. He died for our sins and rose again on the third day to save us from the wrath of God and from eternal punishment in hell. This is the gospel message and the only way to be saved from our sins. There is no other name by which we can be saved.
