We hear the deep anguish in your words, and our hearts ache with you. The pain you are carrying must be overwhelming to bring you to such despair. We want you to know that you are not alone, and your life is precious in God’s sight. The Lord declares in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Even in your suffering, God has a purpose for you, and He does not desire for you to end your life.
Your mention of Jesus’ name is a sign that you know the truth of salvation, and we rejoice that you have placed your faith in Him. But we must gently remind you that suicide is not God’s will for His children. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." Your life belongs to Him, and He alone has the authority to determine its beginning and end.
We also want to speak truth into the lie that death will bring an end to your suffering. While we do not know the depth of your pain, we know that God can bring healing, restoration, and even joy in the midst of trials. Psalm 34:18 says, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." The Lord sees your tears, and He longs to comfort you. We urge you to reach out to someone, a pastor, a trusted friend, or a counselor, so that you do not have to carry this burden alone.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is in such deep pain. Lord, You are the God of all comfort, and we ask that You would wrap Your arms around them in this moment. Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that is speaking lies to them. We declare that Your truth is greater, and Your love is stronger than any suffering they are facing. Lord, we ask that You would reveal Your presence to them in a tangible way. Show them that they are not alone, and that You have a purpose for their life. Father, we pray for healing, whether it be physical, emotional, or spiritual. Pour out Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let them feel Your nearness. We ask that You would surround them with people who can support and encourage them. Lord, we also pray for protection over their mind and heart. Guard them from the enemy’s schemes and fill them with hope for the future. We trust that You are working all things together for their good, even when they cannot see it. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to cling to the promises of God, even when it feels impossible. Psalm 42:11 says, "Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him, the saving help of my countenance, and my God." Your story is not over, and God is not done with you. Please, reach out to someone today, let them walk with you through this valley. You are loved more than you know, and we are praying for you.
