Beloved of All
I am carrying a deep hurt and facing a problem in my relationship with my brother, ###. My desire is to forgive and for the relationship to be restored. He is perhaps the most difficult person, and this the most challenging relationship, I have ever known. Yet, this broken relationship and the hurt in my heart stand as a barrier to drawing closer to God. Let us pray that God helps me to truly forgive completely—freeing me from hurt and negative thoughts—so that my heart may be pure and at peace, in the name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God grants me wisdom and intervenes to resolve this issue, aligning the relationship with His will, in the name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God heals my heart and soul and protects me from further hurt, in the name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God accomplishes His work in my brother ###, so that he may become more spiritually mature, more obedient to God, more loving, and more compassionate, in the name of Jesus Christ! Thank you... God bless you!

Multitudinous Thoughts and Sacred Comforts
We have heard the deep hurt you are carrying in your heart regarding your relationship with your brother and we join with you in bringing this burden before the Lord in the name of Jesus Christ. We understand how painful it is when the most difficult and challenging relationship is with family, and how that hurt and those negative thoughts can feel like a barrier to drawing closer to God. Yet we know God sees your desire to forgive and to see this relationship restored and aligned with His will, and that desire itself is pleasing to Him.

Scripture calls us to forgive as we have been forgiven, not because the hurt is small but because we have been greatly forgiven in Christ. We are reminded in Ephesians 4:32, And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. And in Colossians 3:13, bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Forgiveness is not denying the wound or saying the wrong did not matter, it is releasing the right to hold the offense and entrusting justice and healing to God, so that bitterness does not take root in our hearts as warned in Hebrews 12:15. We also hear the Lord's encouragement in Romans 12:18, If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Restoration is our hope and prayer, but it requires both hearts to be willing, and even if your brother is not yet ready to respond, your obedience in forgiving will free your own heart to be pure and at peace before God.

We also lift up your need for wisdom and protection. The Lord promises in James 1:5, But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. He also promises healing for the wounded heart in Psalm 147:3, He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. And He promises peace that guards us in Philippians 4:7, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

Together we pray. Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You that we have access to Your throne of grace through Him alone. We ask You to do a deep work in our dear one who is hurting. Lord, grant a complete forgiveness that comes from Your Spirit, washing away hurt, resentment, and every negative thought, and create a pure heart and a mind at peace. Heal the heart and soul that have been wounded, bind up what is broken, and protect from further hurt without allowing the heart to become hard. Grant wisdom beyond human understanding to know how to speak, when to be silent, when to set healthy boundaries in love, and how to pursue peace as much as it depends on this child of Yours. Intervene in this relationship according to Your perfect will, removing what hinders and restoring what is according to Your purposes. We also pray for this brother, that You would accomplish Your work in his heart, drawing him closer to You, making him more spiritually mature, more obedient to Your word, more loving and more compassionate, and that You would transform this challenging relationship into a testimony of Your grace and reconciliation. Help our dear one to not let this pain be a barrier any longer, but to draw even nearer to You in the midst of it, trusting that You are the true comforter and healer. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring this hurt daily to the Lord, to pray for your brother even when it is difficult as Jesus taught in Matthew 5:44, and to keep pursuing fellowship with God through prayer and His word even while you wait for restoration. God is faithful to complete the work He has begun in you and in your brother, and He will honor your obedience to forgive and to seek peace.

We hear how heavy this hurt with your brother has been, and how much you want to be free of it so you can draw closer to God again. Wanting to forgive completely when the relationship has been so difficult is a tender and honest desire, and we are praying with you for that freedom and peace.

One thing that has helped many who carry a similar hurt is understanding that forgiveness often happens in two layers. There is a quiet decision to release the right to get even or to hold the debt over someone, to intend to treat them as a person still valued by God. And then there is the slower softening of the emotions underneath, where resentment and fear are gradually replaced by calmer, more compassionate feelings. The decision can be made even while the hurt feelings still rise up at times, and those feelings often need time and repeated grace to settle. Forgiveness also does not automatically mean the relationship is restored the way it was, since restoration takes both people willing to rebuild trust.

A small step that may help in the days ahead is when a painful thought or memory about your brother comes, to simply notice it and in that moment quietly tell the Lord you are again choosing to release it to Him, rather than carrying it alone. It is a gentle way to practice that decision while God does the deeper healing in your heart.

Father, we lift our brother to You and ask for Your healing over his heart and soul. Quiet the hurt and the negative thoughts, grant him Your peace and wisdom for each next conversation, and protect him from further harm. Work in his brother's life too, drawing him toward greater maturity, obedience, and compassion as You will. In Jesus' name, amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your deep hurt and the burden you carry concerning your brother have been brought before the Lord, and we join our hearts with yours in prayer before His throne of grace.

There is forgiveness with God, and that truth is your first comfort. As it has been preached, it is a divine forgiveness, I even I am He that blotteth out thy transgressions, surprising and complete, and it is given through Jesus Christ alone who died the Just for the unjust to bring us to God. You have sought Him with a penitent heart desiring to forgive, and we pray that you will know more deeply how fully you have been forgiven in Christ, for He not only forgave us at the first all our sins, but He continues daily to forgive, and that forgiveness is eternal. When that pardon is received afresh, the heart is made able to forgive even as Christ forgave you.

We pray that the Lord will accomplish His healing work in you. Healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction in the Scripture, and when Jesus said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee, pardon and healing were one. May He heal your heart and soul, wash away hurt and negative thoughts, and give you a pure heart and peace that guards your mind in Christ Jesus. May He free you from the barrier you feel, and draw you nearer to Himself, for where the offense went, from that very place the forgiveness comes, and it is with Him that forgiveness is found.

We ask God to grant you wisdom and to intervene in this most difficult and challenging relationship. Forgiveness that copies Christ is gloriously ennobling, and it does not degrade you to forgive, for revenge is paltry and forgiveness is great minded. At the same time we pray for wisdom to walk in truth and love, to not publish a brother's fault nor take him by the throat, but to commit the matter to the Lord who judges righteously, and to act as He directs, aligning all things with His will. May He protect you from further hurt, not by hardening your heart, but by keeping it soft toward Him and wise in its dealings with others, and may He give you strength to release the debt as the Lord releases us.

We also pray for your brother, that God would accomplish His good work in him, that he may become more spiritually mature, more obedient to God, more loving and more compassionate. May the Lord bring him also to know that there is forgiveness with Him, that he may fear Him and walk in His ways, and may the Lord in His mercy restore what is broken so far as it is consistent with His holy will and for your mutual good.

May the Lord hear this prayer, keep you abiding in Christ, and let the healing leaves of the tree of life bring healing to your spirit. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our peace. Amen.

We join you in prayer before the Lord who sees your hurt and knows the weight you carry in your heart. Your desire to forgive completely and to be free from hurt and negative thoughts is a good and Christlike desire, and it is right that you want this barrier removed so you may draw closer to God with a pure and peaceful heart.

Scripture teaches that peace is a great good and that those who make peace reflect the character of God, who reconciled us to Himself through the blood of His cross. Forgiveness does not mean that hurt was not real, but it releases you from being held captive by it and opens the way for God to heal your soul and guard your heart. We pray that God will give you wisdom to walk in love and truth with your brother, to speak and act as His will leads, and to trust Him with what you cannot control.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, through whom we have reconciliation and peace. We ask You to heal this wounded heart and soul. Wash away bitterness and painful thoughts, and grant a complete forgiveness that brings purity and peace. Fill this heart with Your comfort and protect it from further hurt.

Grant wisdom and guidance in this difficult relationship with his brother. Intervene according to Your perfect will. Where restoration is possible and good, we ask You to bring it about in a way that honors You and leads to what is right and holy. Where there must be boundaries, give discernment and strength to walk in love without returning evil for evil.

We also lift up his brother to You. Accomplish Your work in him, that he may grow in spiritual maturity, in obedience to You, in love and compassion. Draw you both closer to Christ, so that your lives may bear fruit that pleases You.

We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, who died and rose again to make peace between us and God, and to teach us to live at peace with one another as far as it depends on us. Amen.
